Help Random Reboots?

Hey everyone! Sorry if this is a repost, but I couldn't find anything else on it. So I'm new to the whole Android scene (iBrick convert) and I have a question about my new Droid X that love with every bit of my heart =P.
Anyway, I just set my phone down on my desk only to have that evil red eye staring back at me. Phone rebooted itself somehow. I most certainly did not slam it down or anything.....just set it there gently like always.

Also, I noticed that when my X is on the charger, every now and then it will freeze up and reboot itself.

Anyone have any ideas on what is going on here?

I have not experienced quite as many unrequested reboots as you have but I did have one that occurred when I was taking a bunch of pictures and videos and flipping between the camera and camcorder a bunch of times.....

Does it seems like it can't handle all the switching back and forth? That's how mine is on the charger. It's like it can't handle scrolling through a webpage and just freezes up.

It's the weirdest thing. It's not EVERY time it's on the charger either, it's completely random. In all since launch day (when I got it, I'd say it's rebooted maybe....four or five times.

I did get the new OTA update for it today, so I'm hoping that will help it out.

Hasn't happened to me but did to my gf. She took it to VZW and they tried a hard reboot. It seemed to work but then it started again later in the day. She and I switched batteries and it's still doing it. She took it back to VZW and they ordered a replacement for her

Ergh, that sucks! I can only hope that doesn't happen to me....

Only happened once and I was testing just about every setting the camera and camcorder had to offer. Could be a software conflict that will shake out with an update along the way. If it becomes a real problem and seriously effects your ability to use the phone I would take it back.

Right right. It has happened, but just not often enough for me to take it back and risk getting it replaced.

I've had the anomaly that randomly, my X will give me the red eye thing like its booting up, and the whole system turns into landscape mode. everything including the homescreens, app tray, browser, and apps turn to landscape. I'm not sure if its a setting or what, the only way ive been able to put it back into portrait is by rebooting. Everything seems flush like it was meant to do that but I cant figure out how to replicate it.

Very cool, but very strange....

Do a battery pull and see if it helps. My incredible started doing that worse and worse and worse until it would constantly reboot as soon as it booted. Even when the phone was wiped and not activated. However, in Airplane mode it wouldn't do it. Hence it was a radio issue. I sent it pack'n. Two other Inc's in our office are fine. My X, so far, fine.

LOL Thank you! Cause now apparently "we" have issues in our relationship and she needs some space....geez....women!
*......says ANOTHER prayer for this man*:D

Back OT, it did happen to me ONCE today while I was on the phone but only once so far and I've had it since Thursday.

Well, I'm kinda happy to know that I'm not the only one that's having this issue. Hopefully an update will come out soon and clear it all up.

Actually did a battery pull not five minutes ago, so now I can only hope that it did something....I guess I'll know soon enough!
