Anyway to long press the home button to show specified apps instead of most recent?

i'd just like to have my internet, messaging, notes, etc show up and not the most recently used.

Try using Quick Desk from the market, it allows you to double tap the home button and bring out a drawer that you can put app shortcuts and widgets on. It works pretty damn good/

also on Cyanogens Rom you can map any app to the long press Home button, and Im pretty sure theres apps that do exactly what you want somewhere on the market so on theory you could map one of those to that instead. Just a thought.

Or just make a folder containing shortcuts. Same number of keypresses

What do you mean by "or just make"?

Using quickdesk now and its nice but I've noticed when I long press the home button, it'll default back to asking me what homescreen I want when I click the home button.

Just make one of the home screens your 'personal' preferences by having those apps/widgets on it. Same difference except it's a swipe instead of a press/hold.

I love using quick desk! I essentially look at it as another home screen and it works great.

My center home screen has my most used apps. Pressing the home button always takes me to those apps. Android is highly customizable. Take advantage of it.

Agreed. The simplest solution would be the ability to just tap the home button... As in, put those apps on your home screen. Taadaa!

Although that quickdesk thing sounds pretty cool too.
