Title says it all... almost.

Due to technical issues with my phone, I got a replacement X mailed out to me. Now I'm going through the process of switching over. Not much set up on my current phone so im not backing up anything, but should I do a factory reset before sending my phone back?

I don't want any info of mine finding its way out and I'm curious if its suggested to do this before sending a phone back. It couldn't hurt the process could it?

Thanks!

For that reason alone I say yes. I wipe every device I have ever had before it leaves my possession.

glad to know im not the only one who feels the same way.

Can I activate my new device, then go back and wipe the old one? I know activating my line on the new phone will de-connect my old phone from the line, but will it automatically send the device back to the formatted prompts for setting the phone up to a line?

As far as I know it shouldn't disallow that once you activate your new phone. So you should be able to activate the new one, then wipe the old one.
