Recently put some mp4 files on my phone to watch but i can't get them to work. The movies show up but all the screen shows is a gray box in the top with a black box underneath it with no picture.

I can get the sound to work but no video.

Any help would be appreciated.

I used ClipNabber - download videos from YouTube, Dailymotion, Vimeo and more! to capture vimeo and utube videos and save the mp4 or fla files to my pc.

I then downloaded this free video to ipod/psp converter.

Free Video to iPod Converter: iPod Video Converter

I used the following settings:

mp4 Mobiles phones from the drop down list
High Quality (MPEG4, 15fps, 320X240, 600KBIT, AAC 192Kbit)

Here is a sample (only good for 7 days or 100 downloads)

have fun! :D

Finally got it working. I used .3gp and h264 format for two different movies (Old School and Terminator 2). Both are working, Old School is perfect but Terminator 2 has a tad audio lag towards the end.

But its a step in the right direction so I'm happy.

Thanks for all the help guys!

I can also verify that the link is legit. I have downloaded a bunch of those movies for use on my BlackBerry. Good quality too.

I have downloaded about 20 movies from that link posted above. I just recently switched from the Storm to the Eris. I put some of those movies on my Eris and the played just fine in Video Player app from the Market.
I was surprised that the Eris didn't have a video app installed already from the box, but either way, this movie post rocks. Maybe if I get bored sometime I'll make a link like that on here.
