Vibrant Storage Memory Setup?

How is the Vibrant Storage Memory setup/partitioned?

I have a Droid X and have had an Incredible and now have a Vibrant for my wife and it seems each one handles the storage memory differently.

The Vibrant has 16GB internal and 2GB SDCard that came with it.

What exactly can I use the 16GB internal for? That's not just for applications, is it? Can I put music/movies on it? Does it show up as a drive when I connect the phone to a Windows PC? Should I save pictures/video to the Internal memory or SDCard?

Can all programs access the internal memory?

I remember on the Incredible, it was partitioned in such a way that many audio and movie players couldn't see that memory.

With only 2GB external included, I'll want to put some stuff on the 16GB internal and sounds like that's easily done.

I can save photos and videos taken by the camera to internal memory, by default?

The Vibrant has 16g internal memory. Of that 16g, 2g are reserved for app storage. The other 14g is for wallpapers, photos, ringtones, music, etc. As far as I can tell your media is stored in that 14g by default. I am sure there is an option to put media on the 400mb left on the external sd card, but I have not yet explored that option.

Ok. I got to play with the phone and I see what's going on.

The 16GB internal memory has 13GB partitioned as an SDCard. It treats that memory exactly as it treats my external SDCard on my X.

The only thing is that even though in the file system it's an SDCard, when I choose where to store photos, it gives me the choice Phone or SDCard and I think if I choose phone, it stores it to the phone memory which is partitioned as an SDCard. A little confusing.

Not sure how to access the external SDCard on the Vibrant phone the phone yet.

I guess I just basically put everything on the 13GB. If I use that up, I get more than a 2GB card and put movies and music on that.
