I'm back...

lol@that...

I sold the Evo on Ebay for $750 + S&H ($50) ..

Yes the Evo it is indeed a great phone..but I can do the same with the HTC Hero + the Hero is smaller and better to carry.

enough of that...

Don B...dialer lag? which ROM are you using?

I am still stock with 2.1 as of now but getting close to convert soon, if it keeps up like this, I like the HTC sense UI but hey when a dialer lag is this bad at times and not only me, read all over this forum many have the same issues, I am able to fix it once in a while, by either reboots or turning the Mobile off and back on. But I could be convinced to convert, will take a little convincing LOL

yes the stock 2.1 does have the dialer issue..

you can always root and if you want to keep your phone all stock ..

I suggest you go on the XDA website and the HTC Hero CDMA forums and flash Nfinitex45's Sprint Stock 2.1 ROM with A2SD and use a custom kernel for it..that should fix your dialer lag issue.

stay away from Damage Control ROMs tho...they're not as good as they were before...

I don't know if I could go for setting this whole phone up again, it is the 3rd phone they sent me, LOL and all have had the same dialer lag issue, I can tell you that Sprint and HTC both are in denial about that issue, they think replacing the phone is the solution, they need to come up with a SW fix
. I will look into your suggestion just to see.

I still have the same HTC Hero ..never sold it because I knew I was going to use it again at one point.......

and I'm one of the few that haven't had any issues with the phone at all ..

Because you rooted ?? Have you tried it stock to see, then would make you jump ship, lol

I got my Hero when we still had 1.5 ....rooted...updated to 2.1..rooted 2.1...

and still no issues at all....the only issue I have right now it's battery issue with Fresh ROM 2.3.3 but is really no big deal to me...

everything else works..

God Bless, don't get me wrong, I love my Hero, the dialer issue is my only complaint, like you said I can always root or try your suggestion, I guess I am an optimist and hope HTC will do something about it

Im using fresh 2.3.3 as well, any tips on battery issues other than the obvious? The Rom is the best in my opinion, i love all of flipz work and hopefully finds a fix to the battery issue but ive been hearing theorys of people with long as hell battery life due to either overclocking or underclocking and even installing Kernals. Thing is my phone is running smoother than ever and I dont want to ruin that so I wanted to know what you thought.

Looks like the screen stays on alot on Fresh 2.3.3 and that drains battery as well...some apps like Autokiller, MLB, slacker can drain your phone too...I been trying to figure out a way to resolve those issues, have done many mods but nothing has worked so far...I did try the new ZenHero FX ROM and that one seemed to work pretty good and I noticed it saves a little more battery.

I sure did miss that face! Welcome back. I'm still stock 1.5, no issues, and happy. TC

still with 1.5? that's so ancient to me..I don't even know what 1.5 looks like anymore!

hey man, good to see you back. love your 2.3.3 - battery life is amazing. quick question: i want a working alarm clock (so that i dont have to pull battery every time i set it off!). from the fresh updater, i originally only downloaded the "vanilla lock enable". now that i want the "vanilla + lock" etc, do i have to "remove/wipe" anything first? or do i simply use the fresh updater app to download the "lock+clock" and will overwrite my existing?

thanks!
