Official Twitter App

I am currently using the official Twitter app and it's not too bad on the whole.

However, I was wondering if there is a way of being able to comment on photos which have been uploaded via TweetPhoto etc, from the official Twitter app?

I know you can add TweetPhoto to your allowed applications via Twitter on a computer, but there doesn't seem to be a way to comment on the photo from my mobile.

I could reply to the tweet, but that doesn't leave a comment underneath the picture of TweetPhoto.

Hope all that makes sense.

It would be handy if there was a Twitter app which let the user comment and correspond via whatever medium one of their contacts used to upload a picture etc.

Incase the above post is too confusing, I suppose I am wondering whether the official Twitter app supports Tweetphoto or other common photo upload applications like it does with Twitpic?

As it's inconvenient having to access another app in order to comment on photos uploaded via Tweetphoto - mainly by Blackberry users, as I think Tweetphoto is the default for ubertwitter.

When you click the link to the photo (twitpic, tweetphoto...etc) you are actually viewing it via the phone's browser (or whatever default browser you have set) so technically you should be able to view and comment like how you would if you were viewing the same webpage on a desktop.

Ive never commented on a photo via my phone before so im not sure if it also works this way, but you can try it.

How is the official Twitter App compare to Ubertwitter

(ex. Blackberry user)

In my opinion it's not as reliable in terms of notifications. It doesn't support as many photo clients either. There are a few threads on here where people have discussed the pros and cons of each. If I recall correctly, I think Ubertwitter was preferred?

Thanks, mate. I can view the pictures fine, but there doesn't seem to be an option to log in and comment.

I'll keep investigating.

I've been looking for the same feature. Unfortunately there is no way to do that yet. Hopefully Twitter will update the app soon and add more features like that.

I was prompted for an update for the official Twitter app this morning, but they hadn't added any notes to say what had been updated. I wonder if it fixes the problem of the app not displaying following, followers, the @ list, and a host of other things I was having problems with.

Edit: No, these things are still not working. It's very poor for an official app, when unofficial clients work fine and can do all these things the official app will error on.

I did a google search and the new update for twitter enables auto-refresh on app start up (Like finally... But there doesnt seem to be an option to disable this as well) and fixes some problems with the search feature.
