Yahoo news featuring our phone!

New to the forums. Just ordered the Vibrant the other day and am waiting on it to show up. My first smart phone.
Anyway, I have been reading remarks on this phone as well as Android in general. This article is definitely written by a iPhone fan boy. It is anoying reading reviews that come from someone who is a long time iPhone fan and they try to compare everything from their 2 days of use to the iPhone. Anyway I just thought I would rant a bit. I just get annoyed when people disparage something because they either aren't used to it or want to justify having a competing device that is also very good. I have never had either and have actually only played with an iPhone.

By that standard my own post would be hypocritical lol as I've never owned an I-anything. I base my opinion on the specs and my play time with the iphone. I do like the iphone (dodging rocks). I don't like at&t. Practically everyone I know has an iphone so I've had ample time to play with them. I wanted one up until the day I got this phone. Now I play with iphones and find my phone is faster, has a better screen, has better reception, and has better multi taking. And I pay a lot less. My friends with iphone play with my phone and have all been amazed with the google search, social network integration, speed, and especially the screen. And I forgot to brag on swype!

Well truth be told, they did say it was a good phone but it comes from a very iPhonecentric user. Of course thats kinda to be expected since its only real rival apart from other android phones like the evo and droid x is the iPhone.

It does annoy me because contrary to public opinion Android really is a better OS with a better if not as populated market place. However, the quantity is rising quickly and so is the quality. I try to educate people who want iphones but don't have them about the alternatives to Apples "walled garden" approach.

At least the Vibrant is making news and getting good reviews. The only times the reviews are semi disparaging though is when the writer is obviously an iPhone user. Like the guy who wrote this one.

yeah def written by an iphone fan boy. it's easy to tell. iphone vs android will be the same old battle as pc vs mac.

i was super close to dropping t-mobile before I stumbled across the vibrant. tbh the iphone was def an option I was considering. However, now i'm in love with my vibrant.

My friend has an IP4 and appearance wise, vibrant is so much more sexy imo. as far as android vs iphone, pfff they are so close it comes down to user preference imo. i happen to love android os. it's powerful and i have all the faith in the world that the google guys will keep it that way for many years to come. Oh and lets not forget about when the much anticipated 2.2 comes out. This phone will be f'n bad! Honestly since having this phone, not once have i thought to myself i wish i had an iphone.

As far as the market, the android market hasn't been around as long as apples so it's not even fair to compare like the author did. I'm happy with the market and it improves daily.

The only gripe i have about my vibrant is the battery life and the iphone may very well be better in this category. as soon as, and i hope they do, an extended battery option comes out for vibrant i will be extremely happy.

The author is a dumbass...

There are some drawbacks. Like other Android phones, the Galaxy S models don't come with a program like iTunes, which allows easy synchronization with content on a PC or Mac.

iTunes is the worst possible way to transfer files to and from a device. I don't care what anyone says, but that software is horrible and counter productive compared to the simple drag and drop of flash drives.

And he forgets, you don't need to sync anything with Google. That's all done automatically. What a typical moronic iPhone fanboy.

It is his opinion and most who have iPhones , or are fanboys wont give props to anything but, ...however , i thought it was a decent piece.

Though he doesnt know anything about Doubletwist which looks very similar to iTunes and looks to be an easy way to transfer music, movies and Apps. I havent actually used it to see if it is better than iTunes or not. Have to get a SD Card first but he was wrong that there isnt anything easy to use as he stated.

lol...I love it...an Android fanboy post gone wrong.

Easy on the flaming, I love Android too.:)

Android doesn't have fanboys. We chose Android because we hated the communist Steve Jobs and his lack of open development. If something comes along that's open development and way better than Android, you better believe we'd all jump ship. :)
