TB or not TB, Galaxy S (European version)

I have been looking for a smartphone, and i want one with android (mostly due to its open source and i like to code ;)(and i absolutely despise apple with every fibre of my body)).
I am also a gamer and that video of Desire vs Galaxy s running quake2 really turned on my geek freak.

I am just abit worried about some of the stuff that has been mentioned in this forum, about black outs, Battery goes insane and, bad performance etc (the performance is especially a deal breaker) .
Is this still a big problem, or has this been fixed?

I dont really see a good Android upcoming in the near future on the European market (i am not impressed with the so called desire HDs specs, not worth the wait), but if you know of one that is due to ship the following months, feel free to mention it ;)

Cool video

Ive had my Galaxy S for a week now and dont see any big problems with the phone. I think that 90% of problems people experience are application related. I mean that people try out a lot of software and some of them are buggy and slow down / bugg upp the phone. The GPS are an another story but im sure that they fix it with a firmware update soon. Its by far the best phone ive ever owned.

About the satalite, is the major thing reception or what?
and about your use of the phone, have you disabled the wallpaper and the widgets etc, to get it running smooth, or do you use it like intended (wallpaper + widgets)?

I havent used the gps freaquantly but it guided me to the adress i was asking for in a big city 12 miles (metric system) from my place. The problem with satelites ive only read about in the forums and its nothing that recognised myself. I use 4 homescreens of 7 (deleted 3). Dont think it do any difference though, its a good speed on the phone. Installed a lot of apps but no difference in how the phone reacts. Ill hope you get something from my bad english..
