Went to sleep with the phone unplugged at 70%, and woke up today to it at 20% with it just sitting there doing nothing and with the screen off. It was also during my non-peak period, so data should have been turned off in the middle of the night.

I check my notifications, and I got the "plug-in" message soon afterwards.

Usually, my batter drops 10% ever hour, but that's when I am using it.

What do you guys think? faulty?

Same thing happened to me. I charged my phone last night, used it and went to bed with 80%, woke up with 30%. But, when I checked the battery usage, it indicated that 51% of the cellphone usage was searching for a signal. So I think that the Vz signal was lost during the night and searching for a signal burns a lot of power. I don't know why the signal was lost. I am now charging my battery, hopefully this was just one of those freaky things that won't repeat.

i don't think anything is wrong with your battery. mine dropped 10% an hour until OTA update. Since I have been getting about 14 hours per charge. Used ATK for the first time today and my battery just hit 80%after OVER 7 HOURS of normal use.

Try turning off the social networking stuff and see how your battery life is affected. I understand the argument against task killers but I have had very positive results so far.

This happened to mine last night. Fully charged before going to bed and it was down to 40% when I woke up. What's weird is that the phone was warm when I picked it up.

First time this has happened. I've let it sit for over 48 hrs before and it never drained below 70%.

No new apps installed..in fact, no apps at all other than Astro on the phone.

I was having similar battery life, I would be around 50% after light usage by lunchtime. Just go to Verizon and tell them your issue, they can plug up your battery to a tester and tell you what's wrong with it, like they did with me. They're sending me a new battery by 2day mail....

Question: I had issues charging thru USB, did you? wondering if that is a symptom.

If that happens again get a new one for sure. I'm considering getting a new one just because I have trouble getting through a day, and the seeming majority gets so much better.

Ahh no, just figure out what is preventing your phone from sleeping.

FYI My battery goes down 10% every hour so I only get about 10 to 12 hours out of a charge. If I unplug it at night you can add 6 hours to that but I'm not using it then so I don't think it should count :D

I did have a problem with my Dinc where I unplugged it at 11:00pm and at 5:00am it was wanting a charge with 5% left. I uninstalled some things and it started sleeping correctly. It would only go down about 5% at night after that.

My X still goes down about 20% at night so something is still awake on it also just not as bad.

My X had a strange battery issue last night... I used it alot yesterday during the day while I was out at work, many more phone calls than normal. I got home around 5:30 and it was down to 15% and giving me the warning. I threw it on the charger and didn't use it - just let it sit and charge. I had dinner, etc... A few hours went by and I checked it, finding it was at 50%. I then went and watched a movie (2 hours) and checked it after, still sitting at 50%.

At this point, I actually turned it off and left it plugged in to charge. I left the phone upstairs and went down to watch a few things I DVR'd and came back upstairs a few hours later. Now, it was only on 60%. I turned it back on and left it charge overnight. It's reading fully charged this morning and seems ok.

I am going to have to keep an eye on it.

EDIT: I was using the OEM wall charger that came with it.

I experienced a similar scenario yesterday as well. I usually have ~ 50% at the end the day. Was @ 15% yesterday, put it on the charger, and it took hours to get to 50% and then didn't move. Turned off the phone completely and let it charge overnight. This AM it was fully charged.
