Custom Ringtone Reset Annoying Me...

First major problem with EVO, hoping to get some help. Everytime I "sync" or "load" more music from my computer to my EVO, the stupid custom ringtones I have for individual contacts reset, and I have to manually go in and change the ringtones for individual numbers. This has happened roughly 8 times so far.

I've created the ringtones using RingDroid, and they are "on" the phone and available, they just won't stay on the contact I designate them for after plugging the phone into the computer.

Anybody have problems with this, or a solution?

Thanks in advance...

Make a file tree like this on the sdcard
\SDCard
\\Media
\\\Audio
\\\\Notifications <ringtones for notifications
such as text/email go in here
\\\\Ringers <Ringers for phone go in here

They'll stay connected if you have them in those folders.

Guess I can try and find out but my folder structure is
====================================
\SDCard
\\Media
\\\Audio
\\\\Notifications <ringtones for notifications
such as text/email go in here
\\\\Ringtones <Ringers for phone go in here
=====================================

Will I be good? I'm assuming that's the default as I never changed the folder structure.

I also use 'ringtones' app to modify my music for ringtones etc... and it drops in the ringtones folder automatically aftger modifying and hitting save.

I just realized that I'm going to have the same issue with my Incredible...but have no idea how to set up the file tree. I'm assuming its folders in folders, but don't know if I'm supposed to be able to do this on the phone or the computer. I've only had this phone for a week and am still learning about all that this thing can do!

Either phone or computer.

Phone: ASTRO File manager
Computer: ....you know.

Much easier to do it from your computer, when plugged into your CPU it works just like any other removable device (i.e. thumb drive). Also assuming you have the setting on your phone set for 'disk drive' when plugged in.

Very valuable info. I couldn't even figure out how to get the custom ringtones from my BB over to my EVO. Kicking myself now that see how simple it was. I have to stop "over-thinking" my new smartphone.......
