Tony thanx I'll tried loading a few MP4 movies tonight and they play perect WOW!!
"GOODFELLAS" lol....now i gotta get a bogger SD card whats the biggest you can use 8G...or?
This would be awesome to use in the car for long drives. I do have to get a bigger SD card though, I only have a 2G. I'd love to be able to put a few movies on my card for the kids. Who needs a portable DVD player!? lol!
i bought a 8GB card at walmart for about 26 bucks. i can fit up to 8 feature length films or a season or 2 of a TV show (depending on format) as well as all pics and other app junk i have on my phone with no problem (no music... i still <3 my ipod)
ok, I dont get it.
I copy movies to my pc and pass them through a converter I down loaded to get them to mp4. After uploading them to the sd card they dont play...all I get is scramble. bla.
I have a 16 gb card in my Moment that I put movies and music on. Who needs an iPod when you can just go to eBay and pay about $25 including shipping for a huge card. Works like a champ and I didn't have to break the bank to do it.

What converter are you using? Make sure it is set up for the phone for resolution and what not. There is a thread buried somewhere in here with setting for most converters.

what format are you trying to convert FROM? .avi works if you DL RockPlayer. .mp4 and .m4k videos have always worked for me as well. no reason to convert EVER and i have never had an issue playing anything.

You also have to keep in mind that .mp4 is only a container file (in this case, it can also be used as a video only stream) which holds the audio and video streams (2 separate files) as well as any additional audio tracks subtitles etc. The same goes for .mkv. The question is what format are the audio/video streams and are THEY compatible with the moments codecs. If they are not you need a demuxer to separate the individual files, convert them to a workable format (pretty sure h.264 works, never done anything with video on my moment, and .mp3 should do you for sound....no need for surround sound ). Then remux into a compatible container file, from the sounds of it .mkv or .mp4. I have to do this regularly with blu-ray rips to play on my playstation.
Edit: Just found this over on the phandroid forums
