X vs inc video

i know we have been threw this just wanted to post anyway my wifes inc same time i shot with my x we also changed sides after to make sure it wasent the sun...


First is her inc.

I see the X's video is much more vibrant.
But video is hard to compare since its 480p vs 720p

It'd be interesting to run a comparison with a DI that has the leaked OTA. Supposedly that gives them 720p video capture as well.

A higher resolution doesn't help color accuracy, does it? It's just more pixels on the image.

Interesting that the colors in the video seem the opposite of still photos where the dinc looks more vibrant/saturated than the x.

That's most likely because of the amoled screen. What you're seeing above is the true output.

Weird, this is the total oppoite from what I've seen between the two phones.
The Dinc looked like it's white balance has been messed with.

Well I've looked at the Inc's pics on several forums and they all seem to have the same issue with color. They are sharp but the colors are off. The EVO seems to exhibit the same problems which makes me believe they share the same camera.

In fact, the EVO, DI, and DX all share the exact same 8 MP Omnivision CCD,

The differences are purely software (well the DX has a mechanical shutter, but that shouldn't affect the colors).

Interesting. Well Moto did a better job with the color data, that's for sure. I wouldn't mind a little sharpening of the pics though, like the Inc's, although according to Anandtech they were being over-sharpened. Still it would be nice to have an adjustment for that in the X. I looked up that sensor's info and saw it's capable of 60 fps @ 720p. And it's programmable so, IMO, there should no reason we can't get 30 fps at least on all these phones. They should be able to handle it.
