Droid X benchmarks pretty nice

Went to a verizon store today for account issues. Basicaly if you do a new for new switch you have to manually redo your rebates and you lose the smart 30 discount too, which is crap. Luckly the store helped me out or I'd have lost 130 bucks on the deal and I have been getting the run around big time since day one of the exchange.

Anyways, I downloaded Quadrant and Neocore to the Droid X and I was a little taken back by the results. I typically get 550 on Quadrant and 27fps on Neocore with my Dink. The Quadrant results on the Droid X were in the 1200's and Neocore was getting 45fps. I also saw a store employee with one that had a case on it, blah, it was huge! I also don't like the hard buttons, and the camera button was very flimsy/loose. The display of it in a docking station just kinda p!ssed me off. We want a nice desktop cradle dang it!

My buddy has a Droid X and it seems more snappy than my DInc. I like it a lot, but I like Sence way better than whats on the Motorola.

I agree, it seemed a bit jumbled and took a second to get used too. I'm glad someone mentioned the seperate GPU, that makes sence. I just don't think I would like it in my pocket, specially when on a motorcycle and it's 100 degrees out. Seeing it with a hard case just blew my mind on how big it was.

Yeah...unless your gaming (and if you are, just by a dedicated toy) there's nothing that USES the extra performance. And based on my experience, playing with it for 10 minutes while waiting for my GF to get idiotic tech support for her ally, Blur was just clunky compared to my DrInc. Not to mention hideously ugly.

It might have to do with the fact that you are posting Droid X performance numbers (which we've seen quite a bit) in the Incredible forum...just sayin!! ;)

Yup I own a Droid Incredible, and posted it's performance also. I was just trying to waste some time while waiting at the Verizon store. So I posted my results after screewing with the Droid X a bit. Some may find it interesting and I am sorry if it has already been done. I did not mean to sound redundant. Since I finally got my hands on the X I am even more releived I have the Dink so I have to respectfully disagree, it has everything to do with the Droid Incredible.
Thank you for the civil critique. :)

In regards to the size of the phone in your pocket, it feels the same in my pocket as the Droid Inc, iphone 3gs and iphone 4. I can't tell the difference. That is what won me over to the Droid X. And yes I had all these phones. The readabilty of everything on the screen because of the bigger screen is what won me over.

The Inc does have a GPU, it's simply integrated under the cover of the Snapdragon. Qualcomm only recently released a more detailed SDK to make more use of it than has been used previously. That should yield us with an update that takes better advantage of that hardware, if HTC feels like adding it.

Really?! This is some of the best news I have heard since the announcement of froyo. Do you have a source to back this up?

The size of the phone is really not that bad, however, I tend to be a bit rough on them and a case is pretty much a must. The case adds way too much to it, in my opinion. When I noticed the Verizon chick pull it out of her purse with the case I really did not think it was the X at first, it looked huge. Once in awhile I take the case off the Dink just to appreciate how small it is and how much the case adds to it even. If I had an office job I would lean more towards the X. They are both great phones.
