So... If Verizon carries the Passion/Dragon, and they want to build this whole line of "Droid" phones, I wonder what the official name of the device is going to be? Droid Dragon? Something else entirely, like how the Hero turned into the Droid Eris?

Droid Passion. Droid Dragon sounds weird. Then again Droid Passion is nothing great.

Droid Dragon would definitely be out, that just doesnt sound right. Droid Passion sounds ok, but I think they could do better. More than likely it will be something we havent heard yet. I like Droid HD or Droid B.A.S. (big @ss screen)!

While another greek god makes sense I would go with Hades or Ares. Being that Eris was the goddess of Discord and the HTC name was Desire, Passion should have a stronger god along the same line, hence Hades the god of the underworld/death or Ares the god of war. Though Ares might cause confusion with Eris.

I saw in a comments section a week or so ago that someone mentioned it would be called the Droid Psion ("p" silent). Seems consistent with the word game Verizon played with the HTC Desire. De(sire). "sire" backwards = "eris". Here they'd be dropping "as" from Passion. Who knows. I don't care what the call it as long as it comes mid-Dec and it's all that it's cracked up to be. I hated the name Droid Eris in place of Desire at first, but it doesn't bother me anymore and I don't need to recite the name 20 times a day.

OK, he's the god of lust, love, and sex, son of Aphrodite. Sexual love would be closer to passion than love. But if Verizon was truly following Greek mythology based in the HTC "working" names, the HTC Desire would have been Cupid, instead of Eris. I personally hope they keep the HTC Passion name, like they should have kept the name Desire. But it's not our choice. I'll still buy the Passion when it comes out if it named after Mania, the goddess of insanity. The Droid Mania...hmmmmm

Wouldn't it be funny if verizon released the phone this christmas season and stuck with the name "DROID Passion"? I mean, what with the mel gibson movie title and the "Passion" signifying all that religious stuff.
