Regulating storage for text messages....

My wife has a Hero and a few of her "conversations" have a large number of text messages. On my Evo, I can set it to only keep a certain number of texts in a conversation (mine is set to 150). In the settings for messaging, that is the only thing that is missing from her's that mine has. Does she have to delete messages individually or are we just missing something? Can the storage of her converstations be limited to, say, 150 messages automatically?

Well i know that our stock messaging app does not have this feature. I really miss having that feature, even my old razr had it. try the app "delete old messages" it has a trim conversation feature which might be what your looking for. im bout to try it out myself but i dont have that many messages yet since i just flashed a new rom. if you use it let me know what u think

Ok, I've moved this thread to the Sprint Hero section then :)

Oops. Sorry. I just went to the HTC Hero subforum without looking for a Sprint specific one.

yeah, if anybody finds a feature like the OP mentioned, or the market app works, please let me know. some of my conversations are running in the 200-300 range, and it's taking 10-15 seconds to open the threads.

The "delete old messages" app works fairly well. We only tried the free version, so we set it to delete all messages older than 1 month. She had about 600 that fit this description. It took a few minutes to perform, but it has already sped up how quickly it loads messages. You can see the options to trim conversations to a set number of messages, but it is only available in the paid version. Definitely try out the free version first, though.
