eBay My World - pawavenue (links to pictures are at the bottom of this post)

^This guy is awesome: his customer service sets him apart in a big way. His store is called PawAvenue and is based out of California.

TAKE-HOME MESSAGES YOU WILL GET FROM THIS POST:
1) This seller is EXTREMELY helpful and is willing to help out buyers.
2) He has two styles of the Argyle cases that are exactly the same as Amzer (one style for OCD users with symmetry anxiety [me] and one style for those more concerned about heat release and speaker muffling). Other sellers only seem to have the one type.
3) His prices are just about the lowest you'll find unless you like the really sketchy retailers. I narrowed my results to those inside the US and ignored the ones with sketchy looking pages. I don't really want the defective merchandise that takes a year to reach me from Hong Kong....

ABOUT THE CASES:

If you're familiar with the Argyle Hard Silicone cases, (same as Verizon's hard silicone case, except not made by Verizon, so they're less expensive), then you'll know what you're looking at. I have provided the galleries that are linked to his listing below. He orders these cases in bulk, so I was able to buy mine for $7.95, no taxes, free shipping using BUY IT NOW.

Please make note that these cases are not Amzer brand: I am almost 100% certain that they are identical though. If you look around eBay you will see many identical cases that don't specify "Amzer". Some of them are Luxmo and some of them are probably brandless. It highly likely that they have all been produced by the same manufacturer, which Amzer then puts their name on. In other words, there is literally no difference between them.

MY EXPERIENCE:
Why am I recommending this seller over the others? I sent out a series of emails to different sellers asking the "is this Amzer" question and a few other questions. This seller was the ONLY ONE who responded in a reasonable amount of time (about a day) and with a DETAILED response.

After I had ordered from him, I noticed that the picture of the case I had ordered appeared to have a larger opening around the speaker: it looks like it was designed for the older hardware that had some strange circle that now isn't there. The sellers other pictures showed the smaller slit that most of the other hard silicone cases sport. To me it appeared that the big opening was unnecessary to allow proper sound out...

I contacted the seller frantically and asked him about this: he quickly responded saying that he actually had both types. I used the eBay system to get his contact info, called him and he gladly agreed to send me the small slit one: turns out he ordered two batches of them and had all colors in both styles.

FYI, his response time to my frantic email was about 1 hour. After I called him and he made the change, I got a shipping number within about 10 minutes. This guys works fast.

I bought from him as well. In fact, I just got in from taking some pictures of the case. It is made by Luxmo, and looks identical to the Amzer one. I got mine 3 days after payment. All of the buttons are covered, which I like but it does make them harder to push. The power button is easy to hit, but the volume rocker and camera button just require a bit more effort. It fits great, no loose sides or corners. A couple of lines from the mold, but this is exactly what I wanted. Could have lived without the argyle pattern, but it's not bad. In fact, I kinda like it.

This is the smoke color.

Yes, the 3rd one shows the mold line a little bit and what seems like a little tab where multiple cases were once connected before being cut apart. Also the pattern is a bit screwy on the sides. The 4th photo looks strange because the case is bent since I was holding it in the air (trying to show the pattern on a solid background color). Look at photo 1, it's pretty symmetrical.

FYI guys, I ordered my case on 7/22 around 1 EST and received it early on 7/24 (Saturday). Not to shabby when the shipping address is California and I'm in NY, and the shipping was free.

The case itself looks great. It is exactly what I expected. FYI it seems like most of the ones online where a brand isn't listed are indeed Luxmo cases.

Feel free to ask any questions you have.

I actually ordered from this user a day before he is no longer listed on ebay. What do you guys think I should do? It shows up on PayPal that the payment status is complete but it kind of worries me that I can't contact the seller on ebay anymore cause he doesn't exist.

Contact Ebay support. They should still have his contact information on hand. If you explain their dilemma, they'll give you their information. Also, I assume you paid using Paypal; same goes, you can request the seller's contact information through them as well.

Yeah I wrote him an e-mail as to when my package will arrive. I hope I receive a response soon. It would be way too ironic to have my droid x but be delayed in using it because I still don't have a case for it. =\

Did the seller send you any shipping information? Or did you purchase it, get the receipt and get it in a few days later in the mail?

Fedex tracking shows that mine is out for delivery today. Although it appears that I will get mine today, I must say, something was fishy about that. Based on feedback, the cases were authentic Amzer, but for that price, how could he afford to ship overnight Fedex?

Seems as this guy is no longer on Ebay at least from what I can tell which stinks cause I was going to buy one of the cases he was selling

I didn't want to say anything, but intentionally avoided that seller b/c he looked sketchy (can't recall exactly what concerned me right now). I would like the reinforce my OP: if you want to order w/o worrying and have a seller who is extremely helpful, friendly and reliable, you should consider the one I bought from. Not saying there aren't other great options, but if peace of mind is high on your list, then the guy I bought from is a great option.

+1

Pawavenue was great, quick and you can't tell the difference between the Amzer and the Luxmo.
