Hi all.. I've got a bit of a problem with this rooting melarky..

I rooted my desire with the Unrevoked3 method and everything went swimmingly.. I have superuser permission and clockwork recovery both working fine and accessible..

I did a nandroid backup (via clockwork) straight away and flashed a custom rom (sensefroyo_v1.0c) and my phone booted up fine with 2.2 and i was really impressed with everything except that apps2sd wasn't functioning at all.. it wouldn't copy any apps over to the SD.. nothing..

So i thought i would try having a look at some other custom roms and see if apps2sd would work with those - i tried installing the Devillian rom (same method - clockwork -> install from zip) and everything seemed to go fine until i tried to boot up the phone and it hung on the android logo screen.. it wouldn't go any further.. tried taking the battery out (well i had to because it wouldn't do anything else) and resetting but it was still stuck at boot... i did a restore of my nandroid backup and my phone was back to normal.. i then tried it again with the sensefroyo rom and it hung again at bootup.. did a nandroid restore and phone booted up fine..

tried to install another rom last night (LeeDroid) and had exactly the same problem - installs fine but after the reset wont go past the android boot screen - it just hangs..

restored my nandroid backup and everything ok again..

so it seems like i cant install any other roms and get past the boot anim.. does anyone have any ideas on a possible fix..? as i say the only rom that appeasr to work now is my orig nandroid backups - maybe im missing something really obvious and being a complete noob...

anyway.. if anyone can help or shed some light on the matter it would be very much appreciated..

Make sure you do a thorough wipe & factory reset in the root menu before installing your rom, also give the phone chance to boot up on the new rom as first time it takes longer.

Just rooted mine, but having issues.
Used OpenDesire FroyoSense
Phone Memory has gone down to 63mb - think cause I have two Nandroid backups, one of my original, and one of new ROM before partitioning SD Card.

Tried partitioning using ROM Manager, but fails when it tries to reboot.

How the hell do I wipe everything from my phone and start again? It's brand new, so I don't have any downloaded apps I want to keep.

Used the one-click method btw.

When you turn on your phone with the volume down pressed, the root section comes up select recovery & all the options are there in the clockwork mod screen.

I'm in the recovery menu now.
Will wipe data/factory reset do the trick?

I want nothing left, no nandroid backups or apps.
Just want to re-install the ROM

Thank you anonie for the help

edit - Just did factory reset, still left with only 77MB
and can't partition using ROM manager

The amount of internal memory varies with different roms, mine is only about 70mb on first boot.
The rom manager only partitions the sd card, i think if you want to remove the partition altogether if you set it to 0mb ext & 0mb swap.
back up your memory card to your pc if you want to save anything on there, then go settings sd & phone storage unmount sd card format sd card.

Oh, okay. I think I'm using the same ROM as you - OpenDesire. So the space sounds right then.

I want to partition the card so I can app2sd+
Do I still need to install app2sd+, or do the apps go to the card automatically if it is partitioned?

You need to install app2sd+ for the apps to go to the partition, or you can use what i am using mod install location app its free & you set it to install to ext.
I am using the neophyte rom.

Okay, finally got this sorted. Did the wipe/factory reset in recovery.
Reinstalled ROM Manager.
Partitioned the card.

Now the apps automatically go to the partition. I did not need to install app2sd+...maybe it comes with the ROM.

Thanx to anoniemouse:D for the help and putting up with my questions:p.

PS - neophyte ROM is next on my list, heard it is very good looking + fast
