Carrier ? ___NONE___ (we know some are also Unlocked so not Just T-Mobile)

Country you are using your phone in ? _USA____ (we know that not everyone is from the US)

What I am wondering is.... How long till an unlock code will be available for this phone. I am on ATT and I do not want to pay double to Tmobile to get a code from them, and I have tried online services and local services and they both come back with NO CODE FOUND for this IMEI???

What's going on here?

I am NEW to this unlocking thing but from what I have read it's not supposed to be this big of a deal right?

as far as i know tmo does not currently allow unlocking of this device as it is exclusive flagship device for tmo much like apple and att have done with the iphone. the slide specifically was co-designed by tmo and htc. tmo does not want it on other carriers. this hopefully should change as the phone gets older and tmo releases new flagship devices, i.e vangaurd and emerald.

Yes I have a Backflip on AT&T currently, trying to live out my contract. Fell in love with the MTS and got a sweet deal for a new sealed box white one on Craigslist so jumped on it thinking it would be easy to unlock from what I'd read. I plan on getting out of AT&T when my contract is up but I really dislike the Backflip and LOVE the MTS hoping to ride out the last yr on a better phone

I have seen other people posting about unlocked slides? I have seen websites that offer unlocking for this phone? But when I try to get a code I keep getting my "build" is too new for a code to be released ... is what I am seeing in blogs, on websites, on Ebay for unlocking this phone all bogus?
