xScope Browser = Awesome

After using every browser imaginable for the Droid X, I think I've finally settled on one that works the best. Stock, Dolphin HD, Opera and Skyfire all look a little strugglish compared xScope. Throughout most of the other threads suggesting apps and browsers I rarely saw this one get more than a cursory mention, so I thought it would be nice to point everyone towards another option.

I'm currently using the lite version, but I'm more than likely going to pony up for the paid to help out the developer and unlock some features. Let me know what you guys think!

I'm glad you posted this. It has been my understanding that xScope is a browser that a lot of people miss out on just b/c it doesn't get as much attention (not sure why). I used it before on a buddy's phone and was EXTREMELY impressed... Compared to stock browser on the Droid and Dolphin it really seemed to be awesome.

I'm a very happy xScope user too. I like the tab implementation that it uses. It's also not too bloated.

As far as speed, though, I've seen a lot of people post how they've compared it with Dolphin HD and Dolphin is way faster.

I did download Dolphin and will give it a try. I had used it previously and didn't like the way it rendered pages, but I'm going to try it again.

I like xScope, so I'm hoping it turns out it's as fast as Dolphin.

I tried Dolphin for the longest out of any of the other browsers, and although it had some unique features it also had quite a few shortcomings. I would often get random errors on the X (especially on Google Reader). As far as the speed issue goes, I remember reading in a recent post by the author that the latest version smokes Dolphin in the benchmarks. While I haven't done any scientific tests, it does seem to be a smidgen faster.

ive been using the paid version of xscope for many months and find it to be the best for me. Its fast, manages bookmarks as well as includes other features like a file browser and download manager. I started with it basically for its "pen zoom" as the Moment didnt support multitouch but the one finger zoom works easier than using two fingers anyway. If you havent tried it check out the free version and decide.

Yep, that zoom feature is amazing: it was one of the first things that really stood out to me.
