Outgoing Call Waiting Notification [HTC DESIRE]

Hello,

Earlier I was using Nokia N82 phone (Symbian OS). I used to get a notification on my screen (CALL WAITING) shall the person I am calling is currently engage. However, after I switched to HTC Desire, this notification doesn't appear. Is there a special way to enable this? or are there any applications?

- The other person has already enabled the call-waiting feature.

Well, the feature has been enabled. It's working fine when I was on call. However, it fails to show when I am calling someone that has already enable the 'Call Waiting' feature.

Android Issue
Yeah It looks like this is an android issue, I've seen many android users are having this problem, the call waiting notification is too low to alert you, and you usually get a lot of missed calls, I know that there is an app called call waiting config from the market, it helps but it has some glitches when you connect a BT headset.

I should go back to nokia.

Guys, you've got the wrong end of the stick. noresh had "Call Waiting" displayed on his Nokia screen if the PARTY HE CALLED WAS BUSY AND HAD CALL WAITING ENABLED. That way, noresh would now that the party he rang was on the phone with someone else.

I'm afraid I can't offer a solution mysel, but I'd clarify what the OP actually asked.

Wow, I had no idea this was something Nokias did, and personally I don't like it. I don't like the idea that someone can tell whether or not I'm on another call when they ring me.

That function is only available on Nokia phones. i missed that also when i moved from my Nokia to the new smart phones

I saw a post Samsung Galaxy s can show call waiting notification. All the conventional phones have this basic feature enabled.

It's too much disappointing that HTC does not have this basic feature.

Im having the same problem on my desire were as my partner on her wild fire doesn't this is a bizarre issue that I'd also like assistance on, if I'm correct with what your saying if I try phoning somebody and their on their phone to someone else my phone doesn't notify me that their on the phone (call waiting) is there a simple solution or an app. Regards gavin.

still waiting for this very trivial feature which you can find in every normal cellular phone. i hat it in all my sonyericsson and motorola phones. my friends had it in all their nokia phones.
