gonna pick up a used evo

im going to check out a used evo today, but one problem is the charging port is messed up he says and the phone wont charge. is there a way to fix this? or is the phone basically screwed? i was thinking since sprint has the 1yr warranty on defects it should be able to be replaced by a refurb correct?

If you really want to get it and it's a good price, why don't you consider getting the charger and 2 batteries from ebay...might be worth the $10 expenditure...you could just rotate the batteries out and always have one charged.

All the guy was saying is that if the price is low enough, the OP could charge the batteries and rotate them out. Not something I would want to do personally, regardless of price..

Honestly, if there is stuff broken on a 1 month old phone, I dont think he took very good care of it, and is probably getting rid of it so he can get another. Having the charging port broken is kind of a big deal. You will never be able to charge on-the-go, and never be able to transfer music/movies to the sd card.

BRO!!! Maybe you should have read the post. He said get the CHARGER and batteries from ebay. This comes with 2 batteries and a desk charger to charge the batteries. This will work, but again, you are stuck with the desktop charger, and will never be able to charge in the car.

I don't know that I'd buy a used EVO with anything "broken." The closest to used that I'd buy is a refurb only if it carried the same 1 yr warranty as new... good luck.

Umm if you read my post, I was telling him I wouldn't buy that phone. I was just giving him an option if he were. And if I needed a phone badly, and didn't have a lot of cash, I would consider buying the phone. Not everyone can afford a brand new phone.

Not sure if this is something you would want to do but if you have insurance you could pick up that evo and do that 2 battery and desktop charger. Of course you would have to get the evo for about 50 bucks or something in order for this to be a deal. But then you could put the evo on your account after a while and then use your insurance to to get a replacement. Then your evo would cost 100 plus your evo cost and the charger cost.

And before the comments fly in, yes this is something I would do if the prices were right and I did not have the cash for a new evo or if i didnt have an upgrade.
