1-click root????

apparantly the droid x just got a one click root method. does the evo have one??

all i want is to get the wifi tethering and the rest i dont care about.

p.s i have ota 1.47.651.1 currently installed and stock everything!!

Yes the Evo does have one its called Unrevoked and since u have OTA update u need to go with Unrwvoked3 and you'll have ur WiFi thethering.All it takes is one click.

If you don't have the 1.47 update it will work. If you have the update go to unrevoked and download the version for your computer. I did it on a Mac and it took about 90 seconds. Painless. But this is not full root. For that you need simpleroot.

There is a section here called All Things Root. Look in there for all the information you need about rooting and using Unrevoked3.

What features would we be missing out on if that's not a "full root?"

How involved is simpleroot? Does it work with the OTA update?

if all you want is root applications, unrevoked3 will work fine. but if you want the option of installing roms in the future, simpleroot is great.
