No voice to speech

Hi,
I just recently bought the Galaxy S. It's gorgeous but I have a problem: I can't get the speech-to-text function working. No little microphone next to the google search. I downloaded BabelFish and the voice to text function isn't working either ("not available on the phone"). Any idea why? Thanks!

i think you have to download an app to actually ALLOW voice to text. well it's not really an app but more like an "add-on" i can't remember the name of it at the moment. would check the app store but no signal at work. try searching for "google" in the app store and you should see one that says like google voice or something like that.

edit: well at least that's what i had to do for my captivate not sure what it's like on other android phones.

Thanks for the responses.

I went to the Live Chat and I was told that TTS Service Extended was needed. I thought such a thing was preinstalled (because in every add you saw the little microphone right next to the google search widget). Apparently you've got to install it. I'll try it and tell you if it worked!
