Everyone get "Battery Indicator" now

The Captivate battery indicator is in one word useless. Right now the phone status itself says it's at 80 percent and the icon seuss it's full. 80 percent in my world is a battery that is one fifth empty. But I guess Samsung is seeing the glass half full. I mean at 60 percent it shows as still almost full.

The "Battery Indicator" app uses a negligible amount of RAM and virtually no CPU since it stays asleep until the OS broadcasts a change in battery status.

And it's free.

P.S. I have nothing to do with the author of this app and I benefit nothing from it. lol

While the stock indicator is short to worthless, I don't want any other unless it replaces the stock one. Having multiple indicators for the same purpose (though displaying it in different ways) just bloats down the UI. So if there is something useful out there that replaces the stock indicator, I'm all ears.

The stock battery indicator really is terrible, it doesn't represent the actual battery percentage at all. From what I can tell the indicator ignores the top 25% or so of the battery's capacity. So basically if it shows full it could be anywhere from 75%-100%. Once it starts to drop, I generally find that the actual battery % is roughly whatever the indicator looks like - 25%. So if it looks like I have about 50% left, then when I check the status there's usually about 25% left in reality. Knowing this helps a little bit but it's still stupid that the indicator is so inaccurate. I hope they fix that soon.

Pretty sure the battery indicator drops the bar AFTER it reaches the threshold, which is confusing but not as bad as some of you are making it out to be. So yes, it shows full at 80% (stupid, I agree) but the bar drops at 79%, and again at 59%, etc. I've observed the drop on the indicator between 59 and 60% for sure. I'll have to keep my eye out to double check, but I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

Oh, and Battery Indicator for me.
