HTC Hero US 3G (850/1900mhz 3G)

their plans are more expensive but I like not being on a contract and the fact I can use more than one phone. sometimes i prefer to use my e71 so all I have to do is swap out my sim card. besides that i dont like the look or feel of the sprint version. plus I like the way the trackball lights up for notifications. the only thing i would miss is sprint nav which wont mean much after 2.0.

Yea and it will also be awesome to have the tiny 3G coverage of ATT back. Not to mention all the dropped calls from the fewest drop call provider (bs).;)

I recently switched from att/iphone to sprint/hero, and while the iphone is a better device (smoother around the edges and whatnot) Sprints quality of service and much much cheaper pricing makes it more than worth it IMO.:)

Sprint makes it pretty darn easy to change your phone through there website by the way, my brother does it all the time FYI.

I agree 100%. I had an iphone since the first one and switched to Sprint/HTC Hero about a month ago. With iphone/ATT i had at least 1 dropped call a day. I haven't had one dropped call since switching to Sprint.

He's complaining to the Sprint Hero people about the GSM Hero being available. Makes sense to me.
Ok im sorry but there must be some confusion here. when did I complain? an op deleted my posts cause i was a bad boy so ill stay calm. here is the reason for my post:

I was on ATT and wanted the hero ever since the Euro version was released. the North American gsm version was announced a while back but i never heard a word since then. I went ahead and singed up with sprint because i really wanted to give the hero and android a try.

my point had i known this version was going to be released shortly after the cdma version i would have stayed with ATT. I thought maybe someone else was in my same situation and wanted to know they now had the choice to stick with ATT. Im not bashing sprint nor the cdma version i just would have preferred to stay with att and thought i could share the release of this phone since i did not see it on engadget or gizmodod.

Is that too hard to understand? did i hurt anyone's feelings?

I guess... but it still seems like a topic for the general hero thread... IMHO

won't help any of us who have sprint and a hero... again just my humble opinion

I figured maybe there are people like me who have more than one phone and more than one carrier. I am in sprint forums att forums and tmbolie forums because i use all 3 providers. Until recently when i turned im my ATT phone for a boost mobile chirp plan. at least I own the phone in the forum i am posting

nope lol...
one thing you should try and remember is this forums is for us to help each other...
flaming and bashing are clear violations of what this forum is for and represents and chances are you will get your posts deleted by mods and or banned if you continue to be hostile so just chill out and have some fun...

having said that my original point was since it is a GSM phone and sprint is CDMA it would prob be better off in the hero thread.
however i do very much see your point. about maybe wanting to go back.
Personally having sold both att and sprint i will stick with sprint.
the price plans and data network alone will keep me on sprint.
wish sprint had diff colors for the hero (white hero's are pretty)
I however think the chin on the GSM hero's is ugly looking IMHO.

all that aside welcome to the forums. and I sincerely hope your acclimation is a pleasant one :p

Thank you for the pleasant response. like i said i was just trying to let someone that may be in my same situation realize there is an alternative. im past my 30 days so i may just stick with the sprint version. i love the act that i dont have to watch my minutes like i did when i was on att.
and if you notice one of my posts in the moto droid forum i attempted to hep someone with there exchange setup because i know it was similar on the hero. I am here to help and learn. I just didnt like the responses to my post. I assumed anyone in the regular hero forums was from Europe and would not benefit from the North American version that is why i posted here.

I posted over at XDA and it turns out that though the phone has NA bands some of the apps aren't showing up on the market. Yea i noticed both forums but i guess that information was not need here so next time ill stick to posting in howard forums and Xda where i never get such a negative response for trying to help. Its all good though no harm i just learned to keep things to myself.
