Quick battery charge?

My battery was approaching 0% last night at 10:30PM - and to avoid any late night calls, I turned it off and plugged in the charger.

At 11PM, the charge status showed about 50% charged already?

I fell asleep before checking again, but to me it sounds like there is something wrong with the battery not getting the full charge or the indicator is completely off..

Also, when I turned the phone back on, I immediately went to the battery status in the settings menu, and the battery showed 98% - not 100% like the indicator when the phone was off charging for 7 hours??

I am also one of those that is experiencing less than satisfactory battery life as well

Just me?

My battery charges pretty fast too, but I haven't had any real bad issues with battery life. After a day of moderate use, I still have some battery life left. My charge times vary depending on how low the battery is, but I plugged it in when it had gotten down to like 2 or 3 percent the other day, and it took around 3 hours to charge it. However, 50 percent charged in just a half hour does seem pretty high, so maybe there is something else going on.

No question the thing is messed up, because the last time I was charging it was up to about 25% full, and I had to switch outlets, so I unplugged the charger and replugged it to another outlet and instantly the battery was magically 75% full.

WTF?

PS. I only got 4 hours out of the battery that day before it was back to 0. So something is wrong with the charging system maybe?

I received my Captivate on July 20th. The first 6 days the battery would lose it's charge very fast, as I was on it constantly. It slowly improved as I charged it when warnings came up. I took the phone off the charger at 100% charge the 28th (yesterday), left the phone on with normal usage during the day. I left it on all night. I used it this morning changing and playing with settings for a couple of hours. After 29 hours I had to put it back on charge. It seems the battery does improve over time. At least for me it did.

I've had this same thing come up and I would like to hear from some more people who have charged their phones while the phone was OFF. I was at 7% tonight and plugged my phone in but I restarted it because a folder wouldn't open. While off it went to a screen that showed a digital battery (much like iphone) and I proceeded to turn the phone back on. Once it came back on battery indicator said I was at 30%! I'm not saying this is right or wrong (maybe having the phone off allows the battery to charge much faster) but if it's wrong I'm curious if it's a bug. Are other ppl experiencing this?
