Hi guys.

I have searched and researched for the best 2.1 rom but wanted to know what other people considered to be the best and most stable rom available. I currently use chocolate eclair 2.0 and it seems great. I do have a couple of glitches now and again with it though, hence my request.

Many thanks and keep up the good work devs!

Best is hard to judge. One of those nice folks over at XDA has been benchmarking the various 2.1 apps to work out which is 'fastest'. Check out his results:

My favourite is the unbenchmarked SenseHero b5.1. All the benchmarks are run with overclocking and SenseHero doesn't support that yet. Despite this it seems much quicker and smoother than other 2.1's I've tried. You can find SenseHero here although the website is not great... HTC Dev Scene

I've been using SenseHero for a while. Tried VillianROM12 for a week or so, but I went back to SenseHero as I prefererred it. Best thing to do is try both.

If you get one set up the way you like, you could do a nadroid backup, then install the other one and do another nandroid backup. That way you can switch between them by restoring the one you want so you can try out both.

EDIT: I should have added that I was also getting lower Linpack results on VillainRom12 than I was on SenseHero2.1 B5.1. Even with the overclock on VillainRom12, it was lower than on SenseHero2.1 B5.1 with JIT enabled, but no overclocking.

At this time, I think once OC is enabled in SenseHero, it'll be the ROM I'll stick with.

Although, I could spend more time optimising VillainRom12 to see if I can speed it up more.

I tried stock 2.1, villainrom12, kimera2.1, and found that villainrom12 and kimera2.1 are pretty similar. Basically just optimized version of stock 2.1. Definitely better. Everything works, slightly faster without using OC, battery life is just as good. Biggest difference to me is kimera boots up in a minute, while villainrom12 takes 1:20 and stock about 2:00.

I want to try sensehero and it looks really cool but the clock is a bit hard to read.
