EVO 4G's Android 2.2 update starts trickling out July 30 (official OTA August 3rd)

Well, I am having a really difficult time thinking that Sprint release says August 2nd (if everything goes to plan) and the actual release is in December.

August 2nd is four days from today. December is 125 days from today.

Major difference.

The actual dates still have some fuzziness, so I think we should promote that -

General Difference.

anybody else a little nervous about the change in terms from Internet sharing to usb tethering?

Not really, with all of the options and with words meaning things, I'm expecting this to simply cut down on the confusion for so many new users.

Internet sharing is a class of things.

USB tethering is a specific thing.

Well, I think 8/2 was the start of the OTA push. It will be available for the early adopters on 7/30...well, that last part is what I'm hoping...otherwise, it means they'll do a selective 'test push' to a small number of users. But, one way or another, it seems somebody will get it tomorrow.

The release paper says Tuesday 8/2 (I think they meant Monday 8/2)

"...pushing the notification of software available on Tuesday 8/2 (assuming everything goes well)"

Ah.
