I'm thinking that with Sprint making a push to be the first US carrier to offer Froyo through the EvO, I doubt the "End of September" time frame is that far off for the Epic 4G.
Nah, I think we should be fine. Sprint has learned a few things from the launch of the Evo like NOT to have half your apps launch & stay open on their own.
I'll take my chances with 2.2 as soon as I can without rooting. My wife has a Droid 2 - and it flys - I can NOT wait to get 2.2 on the EPIC - will make it Epicer?
When I purchased my Epic on 8/31, I asked the Sprint rep and he said 9/16. He couldn't tell me if it would be OTA because he said the Samsung rep said that sometimes Sprint likes to bring people back into the store so they have a chance to upsell them on other things.

I gotta think it'll be OTA. I know that the numbers are out - and they were good. I don't know how they would handle that many people - especially without appointments - and then - that would start pi$$ing people off!

I hope it is on that day. Having the Evo kinda spoiled me, even though the Epic is very fast. I hope froyo will make it even faster, fix some bugs[gps, signal strength] and with flash 10.1!!
By the way isn't 9/16 the date Samsung had some huge announcement to make? I'm not sure where I saw it but that date looks familiar.
