I am going to be going on a 5+ hour trip tomorrow, and I would like to let my girlfriend use my Incredible's internet connection on her new MacBook. Ideally I'd like to just turn my Incredible into a WiFi hotspot so she can simply connect while I keep it plugged in to charge. However, since I'm not rooted, I know it's not so simple.

Anyone here have advice for it? I know I can do Bluetooth connections with PdaNet, but that takes a lot of configuring on the Mac, doesn't it? I also know I can tether one of many ways, but never tried on her Mac before.

Anyone have any solutions for the best method to handle this?

Thanks!

lol, pdaNet and EasyTether are still against Verizon ToS, so none of the methods are risk-free, idk how you got that idea.

And the only thing you have to install with the native tether is the drivers. You don't have to pay for a 3rd party app (like pdanet), just install the drivers and go.

correct, BUT PDAnet and easythether, don't modify or bypass the "login" information for the VZW's broadband connect. Which makes them MUCH harder to detect.

ANY tethering method besides the VZW (which costs money) is against the TOS.

Just to make sure the OP gets all the information, PDANet will disable secure/https support after about 2 weeks with the free version, and prompt you to buy the "full" app. It still functions just the same, but you can't get on any secure httpS sites.

I have never got that message...I have been using it for months now.

And to the OP, I am on a mac using PDAnet and it works flawlessly.
