Root HTC 2.1 Messages apk working on Froyo OTA leak?

Is there anyway of getting HTC's Messages apk (2.1) working on the newly released Froyo OTA leak? I really dislike the new design and I've tried pushing with adb and using root explorer but once you reboot on Froyo the Messages icon just disappears. Thanks, much appreciated.

Why would you want too The new design is SOOO much easier to see stuffs then the old one i loves it,
