Software Build 1.19.707.7

just got this reply from htc...

I understand how important it is for you to have the latest software available for your device. If your device is branded to a carrier, we work with your carrier to determine which of their branded HTC devices will receive software updates. If your carrier does not request an update for your device, then we cannot create or host it. If your device is not branded to a carrier, when the update is released it will be located on HTC under the downloads section for your Desire. For the most up to date information regarding your carrier

I also have a unlocked, carrier free Desire with a software build of 1.19.707.7 (bought it in Thailand

according to another site the software builds are as follows;

HTC Desire
(Android version - ROM Version - Operator or Country & District)
2.1 - 1.15.110.11 - T-Mobile UK
2.1 - 1.15.405.1 - Europe
2.1 - 1.15.405.3 - Europe
2.1 - 1.15.405.4 - Generic
2.1 - 1.15.841.14 - Telstra
2.1 - 1.15.1600.5 - Fastweb IT
2.1 - 1.16.841.1 - Telstra
2.1 - 1.18.762.2 - SoftBank JP
2.1 - 1.19.707.6 - Asia
2.1 - 1.19.707.7 - Asia
2.1 - 1.19.911.4 - SKT KR
2.1 - 1.20.207.1 - O2 UK
2.1 - 1.20.771.3 - 3UK
2.1 - 1.21.405.2 - Generic

I'm assuming that only the generic Europe Desires will get the update 1st (as i have not got it yet) followed by the rest of the world and then the carriers.

the above list is not definitive. my firmware is 1.19.161.5 from Vodafone NL.

where are you and who is your provider?

My Desire isn't branded (no carrier logo on startup) and is unlocked (bought it in China, now using it in Australia using pre-paid from Vodafone).
However there were some pre-loaded apps like Hami and Hamibook, KiDoWi, KKBox etcetc which I assume are various locally used apps if I lived in China.

I am on 2.1 update 1. (It came updated, I haven't received any OTA's)

xD got a clue?

try this:

menu > scenes

do you have a carrier dedicated scene?

ah but this is not definative because when I put in my sim card for the 1st time it named one of the scenes after my network.

I could have put in any sim so asking about scenes won't help.

I think Asian Desires will get the update when HTC roll it out worldwide. It looks like all Desires that were sold in Europe, or were meant to and found themselves elsewhere, have been given the update so we just need to wait.
