Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone knows weither or not software build 1.19.707.7 will get the froyo update or not? (And if not, does anyone know if I can upgrade to one that will?) Thanks all!

it is unlocked (not branded). I have used it on 2 different networks in canada.

by branded we mean does it have a specific carriers logo on bootup etc. if yes then you have to wait until that carrier releases their own branded version of froyo. if not and it's a generic version it should be updated quite soon after the official release of froyo.

No, there is no "logo" or anything upon bootup, simply the stock "HTC quietly brillant" logo and sound.

I understand how important it is for you to have the latest software available for your device. If your device is branded to a carrier, we work with your carrier to determine which of their branded HTC devices will receive software updates. If your carrier does not request an update for your device, then we cannot create or host it. If your device is not branded to a carrier, when the update is released it will be located on HTC under the downloads section for your Desire. For the most up to date information regarding your carrier

the above list is not definitive. my firmware is 1.19.161.5 from Vodafone NL.

My Desire isn't branded (no carrier logo on startup) and is unlocked (bought it in China, now using it in Australia using pre-paid from Vodafone).
However there were some pre-loaded apps like Hami and Hamibook, KiDoWi, KKBox etcetc which I assume are various locally used apps if I lived in China.

I am on 2.1 update 1. (It came updated, I haven't received any OTA's)

well, other than the normal ones like social, work, etc, there's one called HTC Asia, and one called HTC.

ah but this is not definative because when I put in my sim card for the 1st time it named one of the scenes after my network.

I could have put in any sim so asking about scenes won't help.

I think Asian Desires will get the update when HTC roll it out worldwide. It looks like all Desires that were sold in Europe, or were meant to and found themselves elsewhere, have been given the update so we just need to wait.

This information by you all makes me cope up too.. with the frustration of No.Froyo.

So, all these asian builds have to wait for worldwide release!!!!! Insane.. I cant understand why dont they release the update at once!
