WOW! 5 posts and already calling someone narcissistic! LOL
Here is my review:
I purchased the Samsung Vibrant on 6/28/2010. The device as a whole is very attractive and is easy to use. Some reviewers complain that the light weight makes the device feel cheap. In my opinion the Vibrant has a nice build quality and is very streamlined.
The processor is snappy with none of the lags or stutters I have read about.
The Touch Wiz interface is not overly intrusive nor does it run extremely deep as you can still see much of the stock Android UI mixed in. Being that stock Android and Sense have been around longer I feel that this "skin" will grow on people in time.
Call quality is great on both ends, voices come through clearly and sound natural and I have had no complaints about my voice from callers. The camera takes very nice and clear pictures with no real distortion in a well lit room or outdoors, although the lack of a flash on such a high end phone is puzzling.
Battery life is decent and with some power saving modifications the phone last more than a day while making calls texting and web surfing. As mentioned before call quality is clear but it could be a little louder, this is true also of the external speaker. I am sure this can be fixed with a software update.
I have had some issues with losing signal if my hand covers or even gets to close to the bottom of the phone. The signal display will quickly drop from full to no bars, although I have never dropped a call when this happens. I have checked the strength in the settings as well and it does diminish, this is not just the "bars" dropping.
Also I retain a much better signal on Edge than 3g even though I am in a strong 3g area. I am not sure if the erratic 3g or call signal can be fixed with an OTA update or not but I am sure one would help some of the issues.
The GPS is also inaccurate but I am POSITIVE that an update will fix this and soon. Overall the Vibrant is a sleek powerhouse with an AMAZING Super AMOLED display. This device merges form and function very well and even with its "issues" it is a buy in my book.
In the past Samsung has gotten a bad name for not updating the software in their devices, i.e. Instinct, Moment and Galaxy Spica to name a few. I feel if they keep updates rolling out in a timely matter for the Galaxy S models and future devices they can turn this around in a big way!
That was my review, I really don't see anything wrong with it. All devices have downfalls. But then again I am a narcissist.
