I woke up this morning to find a line of dead pixels across the bottom of my screen, right through the phone, drawer & contacts icons. Below the line everything was all flashy & glitching. I did a soft reset, battery pull and started it back up with the same results. I then did a hard factory reset with the same results.

The phone was purchased from a Wal-mart that was 40 miles away and of course they did not have a replacement. The next closest one was 33 miles from there. So to avoid going without a phone, I made the drive.

I was reading that they have made this problem public now, but they say it is a very low percentage. Just wanted to share.

I'm sorry that happened! I feel your pain, I live at least 25 miles from a Verizon store or anything. So I know what it's like when you have phone problems. :(

Especially when you have to wait for a replacement at your house when you should be at work or what not. (I know they can send it too your work but really I think that's unprofessional).

Hopefully your next phone does you right.

It's bound to happen to someone at somepoint IMO. I have had my share of problems with my X. But they seem to solve themselves or a software update fixes. :) I understand yours is totally different though.

I see it says this guys banned. I hope not from this post. If so you got robbed man. I thought it was funny.
They apparently had been warned by a Mod in another thread about the tone of their posts, I don't know if this was one of the straws or the straw that apparently broke the camel's back. I personally appreciate such humor more when it is clearly reflected as being intended to be humorous or if there is also something useful offered.

To the OP, sorry to hear you had problems, although it's nice to hear from someone simply presenting information rather than venting. Supposedly the initial display issues were fixed in later runs, so hopefully your replacement DX will be perfect.

Yea, I did not mean to cause such a fuss lol. And I could have handled it differently and vented/blown up about the device not working properly, but I had not even a 2nd thought about getting a different device, I wanted another Droid X.
