Verizon to be capping their data packages?

Verizon is now offering early upgrades to smartphones to anyone eligible for an upgrade in 2010. Old news, i know. But I have been reading articles and such about Verizon capping their data plans as AT&T has done.

Either I upgrade now before it's too late assuming that the unlimited data would be locked in even after a change or wait until there are some good deals around the holiday season...

Opinions?

If it helps... I use a widget called 3D Watchdog that monitors your usage, because I was curious to see if caps were set, just how much of that amount I typically use in a month. I arbitrarily set the cap at 2GB, and I have found that, even though I use a LOT of apps and am always futzing around with new applications, I never use more than about 20% of 2GB. I do have tethering, but haven't used it, so that would probably affect my total, but FWIW, you might try this widget or something similar to see if you would be affected by a cap.

Yeah, I know it's the principle of the thing, but at least you will know if you should "pay for more geebees" :) or not.
