Sorry but I just have a difficult time understanding how a dry product benefits from this method and I've been applying all sorts of protectors wet and dry for a long time now. But, hey, if it works that's great. The real issue is why you feel it's necessary. I've put on SGP products as specified and the install could not be any easier (dry). Zero bubbles.

I just installed it dry and it took less than a minute. Perfect on the first try and so far so good. I quickly pressed any bubbles out while applying. Doesn't even look like I have one on.

I purchased SGP because I hate wet applications (although I've done them quite well as well). I thought "less mess" was one of benefits of getting these.

A big shout-out to "Navychief52" for his alternative application post .......... worked like a champ the first time. The phone looks like the Steinheil was applied at the factory, just perfect. I have put two of these on using the normal dry method and the results were OK with little imperfections that most people could probably live with, but for total perfection ........ the wet method is the only way to go.

Installed mine today dry. Came out perfect so I gave the second one to my co-worker and also installed it dry. Not sure where the problem is here.. Here are my steps for a dry application.

Find yourself a nice clean area to work in, turn off air conditioning, fans, pretty much anything that can kick dust into the air.

spread out a fresh clean sheet of paper to work on

Thoroughly clean the screen with a lint free cloth and some alcohol or lens cleaner.

Now clean it with the included cloth dry with no liquid.

Peel the green side off.

lay your phone flat in the middle of the piece of paper.

Check the screen protector for dust particles. If you see any take them off with tape or the included stickers

blow off the phone screen with canned air to make sure there are NO dust particles.

Lay the screen protector down from one side to the other using the squeegee card to push the bubbles out as you go. Keep and eye out for new dust particles and clean them off with tape or stickers.

Once you have it down I like to use a heat gun to warm the corners and edges a bit then rub them down with your finger.

Use common sense with a heat gun/hair dryer.. don't bake your phone till it breaks.

TOP Notch quality at a value price.
You get two in the pack which you don't get with Boxwave.
With Boxwave its either a single or triple pack.

In short, Steinheil does NOT disappoint

Agreed, very happy with how it came out....the anti-fingerprint on the other hand was horrible. Definitely go with the crystal.

Holy crap! I was following right along until you pulled the heat gun from the holster.

Not a requirement.. Just something i like to do to make sure the corners and edges stay down

Got mine. They are just ok. It was lifting at one corner and the left and right edges as soon as I got it on. They customer service sucks. They removed my apartment number from my order email. I promptly emailed them to tell them. The item had already been marked as shipped but figured it wouldnt hurt. Never heard back. Item still arrived. Not happy that my overpriced screen protector is lifting at the edges and they wont get back to me.

I originally bought the anti-fingerprint one and was unhappy with the clarity so I emailed them, and heard back 2 weeks later....very bad customer service, but I ended up buying the crystal one anyway.

So it sounds like the vast majority agree the Crystal Clear is where it's at, but also sounds like their customer service sucks. That is a shame.

Anyone else with customer service issues?

I just sent them an email just to see what their response time is as I'm looking to purchase a couple more Clear protectors for another device.

I have used many screen protectors in my day but this one is the best. People don't believe me when I tell them I have a screen protector on, you can't even tell it's there.

The installation could not have been easier and the fact that it is a dry install sold me. Amazing product, highly recommend.

Have to reiterate what others have said, this screen protector is awesome. It is truly crystal clear and just by looking at the phone you would never know there was a protector on the screen. The colors and contrast are still so vivid, just like before.

Just wanted to add my $0.02 - I was trying to hold off on installing this for as long as possible because I don't like the loss of sensitivity screen protectors usually came with, but man, one you get this thing installed it's just like bareback. I highly recommend this screen protector.

I have had mine on my X for about a week, LOVE how it feels like the factory glass, easy to clean, etc. I came from PhantomSkinz, so I was used to a small amount of drag, but i was also used to the "self healing" aspect of the wet application skins.

I keep my x in its own pocket, baby it, and wipe it down. After all week at work, and one weekend, there are some small light scratches on the screen protector already. You have to look for them but once your eyes catch them you can pick up on them easily. This is the only thing I miss about the PhantomSkinz, no annoying scratched to look at.

But realistically we have to set priorities because its either one or the other..

1) It doesn't effect sensitivity in a way that's discernable to human touch, IMO. If anything it's more slippery than the bare screen and allows for better scrolling.

2) Not at all, in fact some say it looks better (more contrast) after applying the film.

Well, my first attempt was crap, ruined the protector because it wasn't even and when I tried pulling it back got figure print on the back of it. Pull it up enough to get to the lint and use cellophane tape to pick it off. While doing so you might allow further dust to enter under the screen. Patiently pulls those off too. Devote a good 15 or 20 minutes and don't get frustrated. Compressed air helps to clear the screen surface.

I can use the tape on teh back of the screen protector? because there's where it's stuck, not on the DX screen.

Yup.....the adhesive on the shield is not real strong....which is why you can push bubbles out. Use one piece of tape to pull up an edge to get you started then slip a piece sticky side up to nab the particle stuck on the shield. I guess they give you adhesive strips IIRC. I've done enough shields recently on my iPad that I've grown accustomed to using your garden variety scotch roll tape from a dispenser.

The instructions aren't really the greatest, but the product is well worth it.
