Ok guys I have taken what I've found from this thread Hide Battery Status - xda-developers and have made some update.zip files to install this battery bar instead of the original. I have only tested this on adrynalyne's "Second Wave" rom so I dont know if it will work with others...

here are the links for downloading
Original: to revert back but still do a nand backup just in case

haha i would love too but im relying on that other thread to make these zips since i have no photo editing experience.... but when they make one i will make a zip... and i see that they are in the process for one

I'm actually a web & graphic designer, so I'd love to design some variations of this meter. What images do I need to edit / create?

make these blue to match the blue themes found on here I guess... ill be back in an hour or so if you get them done

Let me see what I can do with these tonight when I get home from work. Unfortunately, they are flattened and rasterized files, so I will do my best to make them look decent.

I probably could create a new type of icon from scratch, so I'll keep you posted.

I did a very rough edit to the .png files you supplied. Since they are flattened and rasterized, it is somewhat difficult to modify those images. However, I was able to tweak them as close to the blue used in this theme. Hopefully they don't look too rough loaded up.

I created 2 versions. blueBattery1.zip has the empty cells in white, while blueBattery2.zip has the empty cells outlined in white (like the supplied white battery images)

Version 1

I'm going to try and create some new versions from scratch tonight :D

i wonder if replacing it with images for each percentage (using the same naming convention) would have it go in 1% increments...just a thought.

I would assume there is a reference file that calls out the images based on battery level threshold. That file would need to be edited as well. It's usually an XML, however I'm not exactly sure with this.

stat_sys_battery.xml

perhaps this will help anyone who wants to give it a shot...

obviously the droid (from what i know) only reports in 10% increments, so ignore that part...we should be able to do every 1%.

if you could make the battery icons text white you would make everyone happy over there :)

and dont worry there is plenty other stuff you can do like make a nice theme

Yeah, I was actually going to work on that. But how do I extract the images out of the zip file, then re-compile the zip for installation? Once I can figure out how to do that, I can start making some nice themes and add-ons.
