Still getting 100% awake time

This afternoon my phone decided to power cycle itself after I installed some updates to a couple of apps. It then gave me a bunch of errors so I cycled it again and it was fine.

Well 3 hours later I checked my awake time and it was 100%!!!

I am running handcent and the notifications of the native SMS app are off.

I notice that every once in a while this will happen, and when I power cycle the phone, it will stop.

Any ideas?

Power cycle the phone :D

Pure genius. :p

It's an easy fix, except unless I check all the time, I'm going to be draining my battery.

BTW, the phone went from 10:00 AM at 70% to totally dead at 6:30 PM (dead as in OFF) with the BT on, WiFi on, everything on and using the phone constantly with YouTube, internet, SMS and IM.

Do you have Verizon visual vmail application installed? That thing uses sms native app for notifications which caused the problem for me.

After doing sms thing and uninstalling that app theissuewent away. Also check to make sure you don't have any sms widgets on your on-screen.

No, don't have visual voice mail.

No SMS widgets. I have Handcent, but just the shortcut. I have no task killer installed

i checked yesterday and mine stayed around 20-30%. Now, today, it was 100% all day and I dont think I changed anything. What gives?

Dunno, but it's a definite issue.

I think that this is the root of the battery drain, personally. My tests bear it out. Yesterday I hammered on the phone and the time it dropped the most was that 2 hour period where it was at 100% awake.

Weird.
