I hear that as of Sept. 1 the nfl mobile app will be 10 bucks a month to watch video. But, there was that press release that said that any phones with the app before july 22 can use it til the next super bowl. i got my X on the 22nd. Does anyone know if this charge applies to X users or if i qualify for the free video?

O.K here is what the NFL mobile web site says
"Stay in the game all season long with NFL Mobile Live on your Verizon Wireless device. Watch live NFL video, access exclusive content, set your fantasy roster and much more, all for free and only from Verizon".

Then next to the Droid X phone pictured (just saying) it says
"Starting 9/1 a $10 monthly V Cast Video on Demand subscription is required to view video content".

It looks like starting 9/1 we are going to have to pay $10 a month to play.
Not too bad if you look at all the features that you get to have this app on your phone.

Now how can I hook my phone up to my big screen TV?

found the confusion here is how it goes

NFL mobile app that is all there is there is NO NFL MOBILE LIVE

what it states is as of 9/1 10.00 monthly fee VCAST on demand subscription required. SO what they are talking about is to watch it you need to have the VCAST video APP which is 10.00 a month to view games

Thanks. I thought I was going nuts about the NFL Mobile Live since people kept mentioning it.

The web site says "you'll be the proud owner of live streaming video of Thursday and Sunday night games, highlights and in-depth analysis".

It looks like they are calling it "NFL Mobile". Here is the fine print.

Message and data rates apply. Subject to Customer Agreement and Calling Plan. NFL Mobile includes news, scores, statistics and streaming audio with your data feature or plan. Video content included with your data plan or feature through 8/31. Starting 9/1, a VCAST Video on Demand subscription is required to view video content. Available on select 3G Smartphones. Coverage not available everywhere.

I have called verizon twice and asked at a verizon store twice and everyone thereturn tells me that they know nothing about any charges for NFL Mobile. Can someone try reaching anyone at Verizon who actually knows something about this and report back here. This is important to me and several people I know who bought this phone believing that we would be able to stream NFL games for free.If my memory serves me right, Verizon promoted this in their press release before the release of the phone. And as I mentioned Verizon reps are sill stating this to be the case.

No way we will be able to stream sunday games. I think just the nfl network games and preseason games.

Well with my slingbox and slingplayer you don't have to worry about the $10 a month... as long as you have nfl network on your cable plan its on your phone!! and i can watch the games live.... no matter what channel they are on... such a great app, def worth the money

Let's see, Slingbox: $250. Slingbox app: $30
Total: $280 to watch games that are already on cable (not all games)

Or $10 per month for 5 months: $50. (not sure if it is all games or not)

Granted the Slingbox is a lot more useful, but the price of entry is pretty high.

Either way, I think I'd rather skip both and just pay an extra $8 per month for RedZone channel and watch it on my big screen, since that's all I really care about.

If you have DirecTv and the Sunday Ticket you can opt to pay $10 more a month for the Sunday Ticket To-Go. It lets you watch on your phone or computer. All you need is the DirecTv Super Fan app.

I can see where you are coming from but the nfl network doesn't have live games till later in the season unless they are going to a new format this year... I paid $180 for my box and the 30 for the app... I bit the bullet and granted it sucked to drop the money but I'm very happy with my choice in hindsight
