How to: Transfer a webpage from PC to phone in two clicks and save battery!

Okay, I've seen plenty of posts on how to use QR codes and scanning a custom QR code in Chrome through the Barcode Scanner on your computer to get a webpage transfered over to your phone. However, I just don't like the idea at all. So introducing...LinkPush!

Guide to no more scanning:

1. Go to the Market and download LinkPush. Open and log into your Google Account.

2. Go to here and download the Chrome extension or if you use other browsers, go here and scroll down to "Other browsers" to use the Bookmarklet.

3. Log into your Google Account (same one as the one from above) through LinkPush Chrome extension or the Bookmarklet.

4. You're done! Launch whatever website you want and click the green Chrome Extension up top or the Bookmarklet and the link will be sent to your phone. On your phone, click the LinkPush app and the page will open automatically!


I know the steps above sound confusing but when you use it, you'll see how easy it is. It's simple as two clicks. No more scanning and save some battery!

Google actually has an app for this if you are running Froyo. It is called Chrome to Phone and it works with Chrome (obviously) and Firefox. It has some neat features like if you are on google maps and send it to your phone, it loads up navigation and sets the address. Or if you are on youtube, it opens the app. You can also highlight text and it will copy it to your clipboard or call numbers. I highly recommend it if you are on Froyo, otherwise, good find jiggad.

I do this with Springpad, which is my favorite note and list keeping app (FREE). It also syncs with the online version.

Basically, you add a bookmark icon to your browser. When you are on a webpage you want to open or save for later on your phone, you "SpringIt" by clicking the bookmark icon. This automatically adds the link to Springpad on your mobile. Open up the app and click the bookmark link.

It does the same thing, but built in to a useful app. Good until we get Froyo.

I'm running adrynalyne's EVO port rom and Chrome to phone. It works flawlessly. +1 on the alternates!
