Flashing extra features on top of a custom ROM...

So I have rooted my Hero and installed nfinitefx45's stock ROM. Also, I flashed the JIT included in nfinitefx45's ROM thread and also the "Darchstar's Overclocked Undervolted kernel for senseUI roms vUV 2" 710 MHz kernel. I will be flashing a custom lockscreen soon as well.

My question is, how do I remove one of the extra features I flashed on top of the custom ROM? For example, what if I want to remove the 710 MHz kernel, or remove the custom lockscreen?

I did do Nandroid backups before flashing everything, but is that the only way to remove them?

I believe there is a removal zip on the thread at xda where you probably got the kernel, but I don't know if that just removes it, and leaves it without one. I think at that point, you then flash a different kernel.

Basically, Nandrids are your friend. Its worth the minute or two it takes to make one. It will save you LOTS of time later.

So basically, if install like a custom lockscreen, then 4 months later decide I dont want it, the only way to remove it is to restore a Nandroid from 4 months ago?

I haven't flashed any custom lockscreens, But I THINK you could flash the stock one again, but not 100% sure. Perhaps someone else can confirm or comment further on this?

Just talk to the creator of the rom he can pull individual pieces and make them flashable. this isnt Ideal for us but it can be done.
Soon I will be changing the way we do roms as it will be the basic system with a ton of add-ons this way people can basically build the rom of their liking and it will be easier for the trouble shooting of the dev (me).
So if you are looking for the original lockscreen leave a message for them and when they get the time. I am sure they can help you out.
