Need Help or Advice

OK here is what happened. I did the force update on my Motorola Droid to 2.2 yesterday. I followed the instructions and everything went fine. It was working all afternoon and life was good. Later that night it happened to slip out of my hands and fell. After my 3g stopped working. I tried calling *228 and that didnt work. So i did a factroy reset and that didnt work either. By this time I started to panic and I knew I would have to take it in to get fixed. Worried i wouldnt be covered by warrenty I tried erasing the update.zip file so the verizon people wouldnt see it. That didnt work. Then things got messy. I then erased the whole sd-card and rebooted the phone and then erased the cache and boot options on the same screen where you load and select the update file(sorry i cant remember the exact names). Needless to say that didnt work either. I need some help on how to either fix the phone myself and put 2.1 back on it or make it appear as if i didnt void my warrenty when i take it in.

Sorry for the long entry but I want to be specfic. Thanks

You didnt void your warranty. For all they know you got the update OTA. They cant tell the difference.

Although dropping it may have voided your warranty if its obvious that it was dropped
