What would you keep from TouchWiz ?

If you had a chance to build your own ROM, what features would you keep from TouchWiz?

Personally, I did not try the phone yet (hopefully soon I will have one) but by following many video reviews I would keep:

-Active Bar coming down from the top - very neat change that no other Android software had thought about before - adding the GPS, WIFI, Bluetooth settings and the recent applications tab. Saves space on the home screen and adds functionality.

-Camera menu (what Android REALLY needed) on top of that camera seems to be snappy and with autofocus - good job

-Music Player - not that it looks amazing, but it's still better than the lousy Android music player!

Don't know if I would keep the permanent Dialer-Contacts-Web- Quicklist, I would have to try the phone to know.
All the rest (main menu on the side, new keyboard, cube interface, cubed background scrolling, etc.) so far seems like garbage to me, at least from the reviews.

What would you guys keep in a custom ROM?

My plan is:

- Add frameworks for the top bar if possible
- Keep camera and music player (add stock music player too)
- add HTC rosie UI
- add vm cache tweaks, to cache as much of the core processes and home as possible
- remove touchwiz processes, NPS processes and any other unecesary processes eating CPU
- restore font size back to normal
- customise kernel to double GPU ram (since we have so much), so 3D runs much much faster

Just what i can think of right now. Need to get a behold 2 now

no need to get rid of the keypad. i don't know what reviews you saw but i can tell the keypad is the best of any android deviced. including the sense keypad which i have also used. the dialer is a little fugly but keypad is awesome.

Now that is a ROM I would flash without a second thought, it's like a best of hits CD, it has just about everything you could think of...

1st Post short time lurker. My 1st Android But I toyed with my Wife's G1 I got for her last year. (Little jealos she got Google Nav today and I didn't). I know 1 Thing I LOVE in the touchwiz is the Sound Profiles. Me coming from Japanese Phones I have seen this option on Most of them and was happy to see it here. I just wish there was a way to shortcut to it easier. That's the only thing not mentioned.

As in the OP, Camera is great, Media player is alot like my 904T, and the Active bar is sweet. The Shortcuts at the bottom (Dailer etc.)I have a Love hate with. It'd be nice if there were different ones on each home screen.

I also want to see what they did with Exchange, as the HTC Exchange program sucks......
So far nothing beats Nitro Desk exchange, (not that I expect that quality...)

you can do that now, go on the market, download Panda Home(free) or Open Home and put on the default Theme, and bam! no more touchwiz!
