Seidio 1750 Battery and the HTC Eris...

On another forum, someone was discussing putting a 1750 battery made for the HTC Hero in the Eris. A forum member ordered it and it looks like they're saying that it fit. Here's the link:

My only question is, the user says he/she recieved the battery and the case... does that mean you need a new back cover?? I was under the impression that the 1750 batter was the same size as the 1500 for the Hero??

I'd also like to hear after a week of use if it's making any difference in usage... and that it hasn't burned out the unit or anything funky. Thanks for the heads up on this!

I don't understand why people (here and there) are saying things like "will get hot", "void your warranty", "blow up phone".

I have been buying "extended" batteries for years, since my first digital cell phone. The only thing is that they are physically bigger. Otherwise, they work fine with no issues.

agreed, i used extended battery with my old nextels forever and never had a issue.

Hi. New to the droid. Switched from blackbery. I was curious about the seido battery for the hero so i contacted the support dept and they replied the battery for the Hero will definitely NOT work with the Eris. they are working on new batteries for the Eris but cannot give an eta as to when they will be available. Good thing I didnt order it.

I'm the guy you are referring to. I was previously using the battery from my imagio and it worked fine, but i sold that phone the other day so didn't want to go back to the eris' battery.

I purchased the Hero's 1750 battery and it works great, added about 30-40% to my battery life. After 11 hours of moderate use (30%) awake time I'm just under 40% battery.

For those interested this is the case I use with it to conceal the fact that the sides do not snap on the original back (the tops do snap).
