Accessories Portable Battery Pack/Charger?

Hi All. Is there such a thing as a portable battery pack for the DInc? I was thinking it might be better to buy a pack that can be wall charged that I could carry around. Then, if I need to I could plug the USB right into that wherever I happen to be.

Is that something I could find? Are there compatable after market solutions?

Never mind those questions....I found an even better option. Same price, 5 times the charge (5,000 mAh), multiple adapters, and great reviews.

I have a 2000mAh I keep around for emergencies. It's was only $15 at a local big box store. All these batteries do is simulate you plugging your phone into a computer. 500mA of charging current. It's not much, and half as fast as the OEM charger. But it will do to keep your phone running and even charge it up quite a bit if you don't mess with it too much.

Get a car battery and wire it up manually to a car charger. Seriously, though, if you want some serious back up capacity, a 12v lantern battery wired up to a car charger will work great.

The best one I've found (I've tried six or seven) is the Tekkeon MP1550 charger which I bought from Amazon.

It works with 4 NiMH, Lithium, or Alkaline AA's and can charge the phone from 0-100% twice with a single charge of my 4 Sanyo Eneloop AA's. Stays very cool and works fantastic. Plus, it's much better for an emergency than the rechargable lithium ion packs as it works with any AA's you'll have laying around.

lol I can't carry AA batteries any time. But I will check it out

the zagg looks intriguing (only at 50% off) though perhaps a bit large and heavy. i opted for the xp4001 and it has worked well so far. it has the additional flexibility of different tips so non usb devices can be charged. if you're going to get a charger, i'd suggest getting something that outputs at least 1A. 500ma will be rather slow.

There's a certain loss to charging batteries. I think Li-Ion chemistry is around a 1.3:1 ratio. So, for every 1000mAh that the battery takes in, you need to run 1300mAh through it. The extra energy is lost as heat.
