Help Has anyone tethered their Sony PSP to the Moment?

Back about a year ago when i was actually using my PSP and people were actively making custom firmware (someone may have picked this back up i just havent been keeping up on it) it would be possible to code the ability to pick up wireless networks on the ad hoc side of things not just other PSP systems. Im not sure how difficult it would be to incorporate this in the firmware but the hardware is there. As it stands with official firmware the PSP either isn't looking for wireless networks (only looking for other PSP's) or it see's them and just doesn't give the option to connect. Of course the other posibility of making this work would be to create an infrastructure network with the phones wifi but im not sure if this is even possible.

Interesting. I've been able to tether my laptop no problem. The PSP won't even pick up the phone on a scan for wifi signals. I had someone tell me it was because perhaps the PSP uses 802.11b and the phone probably uses 802.11g or higher. He wasn't sure but it made some sense. I thought if it was possible that someone made a tether that covered some of those older bandwidths it might be possible but maybe not. My home router is a Belkin wireless G and the PSP picks it up fine. But maybe it's because it is a dedicated piece of hardware and picks up the older bandwidths. I dunno. I'd be interested if someone figured something out in the ad hoc mode. I've been trying everything I can think of in the infrastructure mode.

I think your best hope would be someone createing a custom firmware to include traditional data (internet access) to the ad hoc mode on the psp, although this may not be feasible or even possible. Like i said when i was fooling around with homebrew and custom firmware on my PSP the dev was pretty much done with it, i dunno if he or someone else has picked back up on this. The chances of the wifi tether on the moment including infrastructure is far less likely im afraid. As far as the wireless revision this wouldn't matter as up to the current wireless rev. N they are all backwards compatible, although the transmitter can selectively deny access from other revisions, seeing as wireless G works with the moment this wouldn't be the case (as a matter of fact the wifi chip in the moment is rev. B/G). As far as getting the PSP to pick up your moment tether in infrastructure you might as well not waste any more of your time, they use different protocols.....aka its not going to happen.

SICK OF MY SAMSUNG MOMENT!
. after reading alot of the samsung moment owners have many issues. I am a newbie with smart phones. now I realise it wasnt just me that was unhappy. Im an addict when it comes to phone. And its always plugged in! I charge my phone twice during the day. some times it doesnt load correctly. it freezes. It loads slow.it force closes. and everytime i make a call its ok the first time but when i want to redial it freezes for a min or 2!!! ugh.
I have had the phone hard reset to the print store twice. and a few times over the phone
I am sad that im stuck with this phone for the two year plan. my question is, How do i get sprint to give me a different model phone with out having to pay too much $$ out of pocket. Im sick of trying everything that Ive been advice to do. No i havent rooted. And I shouldnt have to go out of my way too much trying to figure out how to make it work properly.

The first, best way to get help is to start your own thread, not hijack someone else's. Second is get rid of that ungodly puprple text.
