Help Select only unread emails in gmail?

Is there an "unread" emails option in gmail? If I save an email to read later its really annoying to have to scroll around to find an unread email. HTC email has this option (two envelopes on the bottom) but the gmail app gets my email faster. Any help?

If you figure it out let me know cuz I would like to do that too!! I hope not to have to run 2 mail apps just so that I can use that (plus gmail doesn't show the unread count, which I like as well).

Download Gmail Unread Count, and just use that as your widget. It shows the unread email and when you click on it that's what it will load.

sorry about the tangent, but i wanted to throw something into this conversation, as well as ask a question.

what is the benefit of using the gmail app???? i keep seeing various complaints about it, like copy/paste doesn't work, and this one as well. seems to me that requiring 2 different apps to manage 1 email account is counterintuitive. so i'd like someone to explain why it's so important not to use the native email app.

presently i have 4 email accounts. instead of creating 4 accounts in the native mail app, i just forward all my mail to my primary gmail account, this way i just get all my email under 1 roof. a tap on the arrow in the top right of the email screen, shows me the account it was sent to.

quite honestly the stock mail app is much more robust than gmail. If I had been totally wheened off my isp email I'd totally go with the stock for my Gmail

What an interesting thread. I've always thought the gmail app was somewhat lacking a lot of basic functions but its strange considering it's googles own app. You would think they would make it kick ass like google maps. instead Htc made a much better mail app

I can't get the htc email app to find my gmail account. I've got gmail set to sync with Pop3, but when I put my email address and password into the htc account setup screen, it says it can't find my email account.

Anyone got the htc email app to work with gmail & pop3 (using 2.1)?

I forward all my personal emails to the gmail account associated with my phone, and have reply email set to my personal domain. Works great. Plus, my company uses Google Apps, so its just convenient. Until 2.2 the notifications worked great and I was very happy with the gmail app. Now that gmail has f'd up syncing... ugh, maybe I'll end up switching to something else.

For all the inconveniences, it doesn't seem to be worth using the Gmail app since, inexplicably, it's so crappy.

I have all my email accounts set to the mail app. Unless the push feature is really important to you, I can't understand why you continue to use such an inferior product.

I also can't understand why GOOGLE can't make a decent mail app for THEIR OS when they have a good one for iOS. This part is simply mind boggling.
