It always bothers me when folks modify the build.prop because I like to see when something was built/compiled. I understand why its done, but it still bothers me.

So in short, here it is:

Froyo Leak 1: build.prop says 7/3, actual: Datetime: 2010/07/19 14:23:06
Froyo Leak 2: build.prop says 8/1, actual: Datetime: 2010/07/23 19:23:20

Please don't ask me where I found this info; if I tell, then the next leak may have it modified as well.

So, knowing that leak 2 is as stable as it is, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Froyo soon, considering how old this leak is, and that there are probably newer builds out there already.

Just a tidbit of info.

I would like a definition of 'leak.' Is this something that dribbled down a telephone wire in Taiwan? Are the 'leaks' actually code originating at Google, HTC or VZW? Or are they code copied from some other model and hacked at to be usable on a Dinc?
in short its an OS that is coded by google and that has found its way into the publics hands even though we shouldnt have it.

More precisely, they either come from HTC or Verizon. I'd assume HTC, for the sole reason that more people have their hands on it (and more of those people are devs, Verizon basically just tests it).

And sometimes (I don't think this is one of those times) the leak is intentional. The developer want to test the software before the official release, or want to get it out there quicker than through channels. That doesn't happen nearly as much as people will tell you, but it does happen.
yeah i didnt want to get into the different channels of where they come from, that causes more arguing that its worth sometimes

Trust me Froyo is not all that its cracked up to be. It is causing many battery issues on the Evo. Don't be to hasty loading it in once you get the OTA. I suggest you wait at least a week to see what others are experiencing with it.

That's because Sprint pushed it without much testing. The reason we're still waiting is that Verizon is much more meticulous. It'll be fine when we get it. Even the leaked copies don't have any battery issues on the Incredible.
