Replace HTC Lockscreen, an Incredible Find!

Just to be clear I have to slide to unlock, and then press the answer button.

I just wanted to say as well that I am sure we all appreciate the frequent updates. It makes it interesting :)

Correct. It's tricky to actually replace the answer call screen, some other apps like myLock Phone Tools or Tedd's Droid Tools have tried it but are limited. I plan to look into this in the future, but it's beyond the scope of WidgetLocker. However having WidgetLocker on top of the incoming call screen was pretty straight forward to add and solves the immediate accidental answer/ignore problem.

I might be an idiot, but how can I get rid of the default sliders that appear in "Tool Mode"? I'd like to remove them, to add camera on the right and vibrate in center.

I can click/hold on any slider that I've added, but can't for the original ones at the bottom.

Choose "No SLider" under "Look and Feel" ;)

Hi, all. I've had my DInc for about a month, using it mostly for its basic functions - phone, email, calendar, internet. I installed WidgetLock after reading the enthusiastic reviews here and am troubled by the following (may just not be set up right):

1. Set up: Allow Interactions is turned on. Notification Bar is NOT hidden. "Battery Left" and "Power Control" widgets are installed on locked home screen.

2. Situation: Notification bar says that new email has arrived. Without unlocking, I can slide the notification bar down (notification window?) and read the email. Not sure if this should be allowed in a "locked" phone. Further, while hitting the "back" button from the email screen sends it back to the locked home screen, the "home" button sends it to the regular - unlocked - home page. Seems to me that I shouldn't be able to do all that without intentionally unlocking the phone.

3. Similarly, the Battery Left widget interaction opens an information screen about battery life and usage. Hitting the home button from that screen also goes to the unlocked home screen.

Do I have something not set or set incorrectly that would stop the "backdoor" unlocking of the phone?

Thanks to all.

Just wanted to mention that after 1.2.4 was installed on my Incredible, the HTC splash screen and "loading" is now back again upon first startup when you unlock the phone.

The "Loading" shows even if you've given a long time for it to load in the background?

I'm not seeing the HTC Weather Animations. I've got it checked for all programs. I've also got W L set as my default home with home helper on, but when I exit certain programs like eStrongs file explorer, I get asked to select my default home.
What phone and android version? (I know this is an incredible forum but it has others in it too).

Hitting the home button from that screen also goes to the unlocked home screen.

This is tricky because either way makes sense. Some people feel that launching an app, say the web browser, from WidgetLocker means that their phone is now unlocked. Some people feel that they should need to slide to unlock to unlock it and everything else is just extra. I added an option for this but it is hard to explain so I put it in Advanced, but it sounds like you want to turn on Settings > Advanced > Block Home in other apps

i am having the weather animation not showing up problem, too. i am on an incredible running 2.1 update 1

I turned on the animation just now to check whether it still works for me (I disabled it due to the issues I mentioned the other day). It still works, so it's not plaguing all users. I'm trying to think what could cause yours to not work, but am coming up empty.

When I make a slider to check my Handcent inbox and use it to read an unread message, the icon on my home screen still gives me an indication that I have an unread message when I back out of Handcent. Not sure if this is a bug with WidgetLocker or Launcherpro, but it only happens when I use the slider to access it, not when I use the dock icon.

i do find it interesting the amount of people who ranted about missing this option, and now everyone is ranting about having it on there.............

I don't know why since you can turn it off. I was just getting used to not having it when the update came with it. At first I disabled the entire program until I came on here and read that you could turn the weather off. I'm perfectly happy without it. :)

Is there a way to have our unified inbox icon on widget locker screen? I'm using SMS Unread Count for missed calls and texts, but can't seem to figure this one out. Adding a shortcut to the one of the Sense homescreens shows the unified inbox unread email count, but when I add the same shortcut to the Widget Locker screen, no bubble appears to give you an unread count. Workaround?

Cheers.

Let me preface this by saying that I love WL and couldn't care less if I have to disable the weather animation like I have.

That said, as someone who asked for the animations back, I wanted the feature back, but only the way it worked with HTC Sense's unlock. The fix Kevin implemented changes the functionality of the animation and, IMO, is undesirable. Clearly I'm not alone here. In fact, I've only seen one person like the way the animation plays over anything you do on the phone until it finishes. When you unlock the phone to an animation that doesn't stop when you open another app, it wastes time and is distracting.

To give an analogy, if WL stopped my alarm clock from working and then the alarm clock feature was put back in, but it was impossible to turn off for at least 30 seconds, I wouldn't be happy. The original functionality, while reinstated, acting in a way that adversely affects the purpose of the function is not what was asked for.

Just keep in mind the alarm clock issue I made up (mine works just fine with WL and always has) and I thank Kevin for his efforts, it just seems HTC has made it such that the animations the way most of us prefer are impossible with a 3rd party lock screen. And that's okay.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I do have one request, but understand you may not like it.

Say I wake phone and click on Gmail. Then I hit home and, now with this setting, it goes back to WL. It always gives the pop up "Home button disabled in Lock Mode." Because this is my most used feature of WL (opening apps from WL and then returning to lock screen), this pop up can get annoying.

Any way around this?

Maybe an option to choose if we want warnings?
